    Not if the starters pitch well and go deep into games. Jason Marquis... not happening Add in that they've been treating Harden a little fragile, so the bullpen could def be an issue. At least they're all rested. I have no problem with how they have pitched Harden, though. The real value he brings to this team starts in October, and if he is over-pitched in the regular season, that would be a bad thing. I didn't mean to imply that they've been wrongfully treating him as fragile - he is, and I also have no problem with how he has been used thus far. Just observing it as it pertains to the short-term bullpen situation.

    You're comparing team wins with pitching wins. One matters, one doesn't. The W-L record for a pitcher (bad stat) by itself does nothing to indicate how likely a team is to win or lose (very important stat) when he takes the mound for them. When Harden and his 1-1 record take the mound tonight, I think he gives the Cubs better than a 50-50 shot of winning. Welcome to the forum.

    I'm getting tired of seeing people bitching about the Brewers schedule (not that you're bitching, and not that this is directed towards you). Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the Cubs and Brewers basically play the same teams the same number of times this year? With the glaring exception that the Brewers have to play the Cubs 19 times and the Cubs don't. Advantage Cubs.

    I know. I have a few days of leave set aside as off-limits, "just in case," and I've done more than my fair share of daydreaming, I'm just eternally afraid. If I don't get tickets from the VWR, then I'll be on Waveland with a few flasks for those games.
