  1. So much negativity in here - I can’t believe what I’m hearing. I see you guys don’t get the trolls in here like I do (those positive Peters and all). Teams go through slumps and struggles, but this team is beyond struggling. There is something clearly “off” and there is absolutely nothing wrong with voicing your discontent with your team when they’re playing like straight cheeks. One thing about being positive and another thing to bury your head in the sand and act like this inconsistent play is “something all teams go through.” No - a slump you get out of…this is much more than that. Hoping they can turn it around and get right, but like many of you loyal fans, you see there is something wrong too.
  2. And I will be the first one to admit I was wrong. I guess we will wait and see. I HOPE they can win a postseason series against one of those teams I mentioned. I am simply stating what I SEE. I see a team that overachieved in the first half of the season and have struggled mightily since the break (not uncommon for any team), but there is something “off” and you guys can have your opinion and I’ll have mine. We can agree to disagree I guess. Either way - win or lose, Go Cubs! Hope they can turn it around and win some playoff series.
  3. Yeah, he’s been shaky last few outings with his control
  4. Where is my buddy on here that argued with me about how PCA’s elite defense is enough to warrant him not sitting out some games?? No doubt the kid is talented, especially in the field, but this guy is a liability anymore at the plate! It’s ridiculous- sit him already or make some changes. Do something Craig
  5. That’s a really good point lol - never thought of it, but you’re correct ✅
  6. I do not care what this team’s record is at the moment - yes, they will most likely (barring some sort of colossal meltdown) make the postseason. However, this is not a good baseball team right now. Quite honestly, I’m not seeing it changing anytime soon. Very little life - poor management, inconsistent bats and a shaky pitching staff. They have had a nice season overall, but they will NOT contend with teams like Milwaukee, Dodgers, Padres, Phillies or even the Mets come the playoffs. There will be people that will feel the need to comment and argue this point and that’s fine, but either way - I just try to go off what I see and keep it real. This team is subpar despite their record.
  7. He pitched 1/3 inning. Running into the ground - another inning wouldn’t set him back. Where was thielbar? I get the fact it was a cozy lead but man it was getting ugly quick. I do hear you though. Don’t want to burn them out.
  8. Counsell does this - why not just roll with Keller and finish this to go home. Incompetence
  9. Counsell is an idiot - any reasonable coach just goes with a guy, but he likes to try and be the smartest guy in the room.
  10. I won’t argue that with you - solid points. What I’m simply asking is this: would you trust him in a tight game? I’m quite certain the answer is hell no. So - to my point…..he is only good for garbage innings against terrible lineups, and even then he’s a liability. Oh, and the Paul Skenes comparison to Ben Brown is……let’s just say, ludicrous. Cade Horton is a rookie and learned those “ropes” pretty quick, oh and this guy from Milwaukee (also a rookie) also learned those proverbial ropes quite well too. I could go on. Brown has had enough chances to show that he’s not an MLB pitcher. So we can agree to disagree
  11. This inning? lol how about 95% of the times he’s pitched this year. What favor do they owe that guy? Or maybe it’s nepotism of sorts. I just don’t get it - they keep “hoping” but he keeps showing them he’s not an MLB pitcher.
  12. I understand these are garbage innings, but is it me that feels Ben Brown just doesn’t cut it? Personally, these are the ONLY types of games I feel remotely comfortable with him. He’s terrible
  13. This team outperformed themselves the first half of the season. Period. The way they’re playing now is who they truly are in my opinion. IF they make the playoffs, they’ll be like the Dallas Cowboys- one and done anyway.
  14. Thought it was just me seeing this lol - it’s on the verge of becoming ridiculous
  15. What is Seiya’s issue with swinging the bat?? Or should I say - lack thereof
  16. Cade Horton. Dealing …….yet again! Atta man, Cade!
  17. Personally, I want to (always rooting for that kid), but as a fan I’m going to have to see more than a homer, which was a HUGE deal for the game last night! Hes still way too inconsistent and needs to take some walks and just focus on getting on base. Hoping that he and Tucker get back on track very soon. Oh, how we all would love to see first half PCA though, right?!

  19. Pitching hasn’t been the issue - yeah it always sucks when you give up the lead and easy to blame the bullpen, but they don’t manufacture runs and this is simply the result.
  20. Well stated - I’m not posting this because hindsight being that they lost. Counsell is notorious for sitting guys or pinch hitting guys who are the hottest hitters. I do not understand his thought process with that. Also, why Busch as lead off? He’s insisting on making him a lead off hitter. He has his moments, but a guy like Hoerner would be more ideal. Again, just my thoughts on the roster calls from that guy. 🤷‍♂️🤔
  21. So glad to see the team getting back on track like any Cubs fan, but yes - Matt Shaw! I was rooting for that kid since the start, and like you said, so great to see him coming into his own at the plate and in some sense leading this team. Class act too - good team win tonight. It’s nice to see
