    Also, that more or less confirms that Theo does all the real work and Hoyer just fetches coffee or something. He is so full of [expletive], talk about trying to save face on local radio with an organization apologist. I am sure Theo did one of the hold the phone a foot away from his ear deals while Cashman talked, told him they would think it over and never returned the call.

    I wonder if long term the fact that they were trading Samardzija to Oakland, where he won't sign a long term deal and will allow the Cubs a chance to resign him in a year and a half, played into them pulling the trigger on the trade. It would kind of be the best of both worlds if they were able to get Russell and then resign Jeff providing he stays healthy and continues to pitch the way he has this year.

    Let me rephrase the question, has anyone seen any scouting reports about the reasons for Almora's struggles so far this season and if they are something he can overcome to continue on in his progression.

    He might just suck Considering his draft position and how well he performed last year it is far too early to go that far without a strong scouting reporting saying he is overmatched. Granted, that certainly is a possibility but I haven't seen anything saying he is in over his head with no chance of recovering in the long term.

    Any word what Almora's issues have been? Is it too early to worry about his seeming lack of adjustment so far? Just a case of a high school guy hitting a level where his natural talent doesn't allow him to easily acclimate?
