  1. How can you not know who Bill Dickey is?? One of the greatest catchers that ever lived. Don't worry about it. I'm not up on my 1954 HOF class.
  2. Rosner is on the Score right now making an ass out of himself. He's throwing out a theory that the Cubs were trying to make it difficult for the I-Cubs to succeed so Sandberg would fail. It's embarrassing.
  3. favre's agent will send out pictures of the stitches in his chin this week, guys.
  4. Hahahaha Funny, but ultimately, pretty unimportant. Hanie or Collins playing is bad. or Cutler.
  5. I can't believe the Giants are gonna win the world series with some of the bums they have in their starting line-up.
  6. Absolutely, at first view I didn't think he had two feet down but he definitely did.
  7. I'm curious to see how Favre can turned a busted chin into a limp.
  8. I want to punch Thhhom Brenneman every time I hear his voice.
  9. I have no idea what Childress is reviewing on this catch.
  10. I saw a headline elsewhere "Cubs catcher caught with 8 lbs of marijuana" and I immediately thought it would be Soto.
  11. Bill Dickey? HOF apparently.
  12. I don't really understand what the heck this means. What makes it obsolete? It's not a piece of technology. It's 162 games because they want to get the most revenue they can out of a season, not because there is an optimal number of games needed to be played to determine the proper champions. When there were only two teams in the playoffs (AL and NL champs), a long season (154 or 162) made sense to determine who truly were the best teams in each league. Now more teams get in the playoffs and the 162 game schedule could be reduced and still get the same result of the top 4, 5, or 6 teams in each league getting in the playoffs. I'm not denying 162 is used because it's more gates and revenue but in terms of determining the best teams, it is not needed.
  13. The 162 games schedule is obsolete. An expanded number of teams and games in the postseason makes it even more unnecessary.
  14. God, he's fast.
  15. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/10/ex-nfl-officiating-chief-lovie-dropped-the-ball.html FOX's referee guys crushing Lovie's decision not to review the Cutler fumble. I'm glad to see his incompetence being called out.
  16. Here's the rest of the schedule: at Buf (in Toronto) vs Min at Mia (thursday) vs Phi at Det vs NE at Min vs NYJ at GB The rest of the NFC is very average but what are everyone's expectations for remaining wins?
  17. The Score is saying that Brett Favre has a fractured ankle but doesn't require surgery.
  18. I love Favre's magically appearing and disappearing injuries. It never gets old.
  19. I've seen plenty of frustrating Bears games in my life and that one was definitely in the team photo.
  20. not looking good for the yanks. down 5-1 in the 5th.
  21. The writer cites Girardi leaning on Phil Hughes success in Arlington over the course of 15 innings, which took place in 2007 and 2009. He also notes that he let Berkman face a lefty (Oliver) because he was 4-6 off of him despite the last hit coming in 2003. I can't wait for the day for a manager to have a laptop, ipad or something electronic in the dugout that has all stats and data for managers to use.
  22. Garth Bale is awesome. That is all.
  23. Well, the Monday night's match-up between the Cliff Lee led Rangers and the Yankees in New York was outdrawn by a terrible Monday Night Football game between Tennessee and Jacksonville. I can imagine MLB is dying for the Yankees to make the World Series.
  24. More at the link: http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/10/mad-mike-bears-tried-to-run-behind-left-tackle-olsen.html This is unbelievable.
