  1. Lorenzo Booker said that Lemming made similary comments to him. I don't think most could access it, but there's some really interesting audio from the FSU rivals.com site that has Booker and Lemming in a confrontation after Booker's FR year. Lemming is nothing but a slimeball. I wish he would jump off a cliff, much like his name suggests he should..
  2. What school is he the recruiting coordinator for?
  3. I'm intrigued to see how he makes the transition from WR to CB next year. He looks like he has more speed than is needed, and seems to have exceptional ability. If he can read what is going on, he could have a few pick-6's next year. Either that, or maybe they keep him at WR. I can't see that being a bad option either. With Williams on the other side, they wouldn't have too bad an O.
  4. Sadly, I can't imagine Poz will be back (unless he's injured and can't perform for the combine). It was too bad he was hurt, because he was having one of the best games I can remember from a LB in a bowl game. The keys for PSU next year are their OL and DL - whether or not new players can step in and have the same impact after the 17 seniors are gone. I can't see it, but it also means that 2 years from now PSU will be in a good stop once again, after they've all matured.
  5. The OL played well, but they need some studs to come in. If they get that, they could have a decent shot at doing something next year. Both the O's looked like they were sleeping and not practicing for 6 weeks. They were brutal at times, but I think it was more a case of the D's just being EXTREMELY physical and well-coached. I was SHOCKED that FSU was able to do as well as they were against the PSU line. The only beef that I have for the game was that PSU was never flagged for a holding call over 89 offensive plays, while FSU was called for every nit-picky hold. PSU was holding just as often when I looked closer, and FSU was still getting by and pressuring Robinson.
  6. I'll be using Mulholland, Felix Heredia, and Jesse Orosco as the prime examples of why we should be tying our sons right hand behind his back when he learns to throw. It's our ticket to a good retirement package.
  7. Ugh. News out of S. Florida is that AJ Nicholson, starting LB for Florida State is suspended for the Orange Bowl while being investigated for alleged sexual misconduct (possibly rape). Not what you ever want to see or hear about, let alone from a team you follow and support. Not too sure what happened to this kid this year, but he's sure turned out to be involved in too many allegations that will send a first day NFL pick down into Round 4 or so. Somewhere Truffle and Derwood are smiling.
  8. Would that make Reyes available? If so, I would like to see Hendry work himself into the middle of that deal as well.
  9. Interesting that FSU has the highest APR score of ALL the BCS Bowl teams. Graduation rates are deceiving, especially for a school like Florida State where Juniors are lost every year to the NFL, counting against the graduation rate. But I'm sure that doesn't matter, since FSU having the most players in the NFL is worthless as an argument.
  10. Lemming's opinion is worth about as much as the opinion of Phil Rogers. I wanted to further blast him, but that's really all that needs to be said.
  11. Ohio State should have played Florida State in the BCS, it could be the battle between Hundred Dollar Handshakes and Free Shoes. Let those teams battle it out for the Dirty Program Championship. Would you prefer to drop the holier-than-thou attitude now, or when JoePa and the Nittany Lions get whipped in Miami? Maybe a slice of humble pie would do those in PA well right now.
  12. Depends on which FSU team shows up - the one that beat Miami, BC, and Va Tech, or the one that lost to Florida, Clemson, and UVA. It also depends on whether or not we can get a few guys healthy. If so, I think we can win a defensive struggle. Should also be interesting to see if Derrick Williams trys to get back to where he can play again. Word going around Tallahassee is that Bowden is pretty angry he didn't show enough respect to even return his phone calls when FSU was recruiting him.
  13. If only Paterno would accept the proposed challenge from Bobby, it could only add to the game.
  14. They had the number 4 class last year, and the few years before that were top five as well. Aside from injuries, could it be more coaching than the recruiting? But, that's the problem. The recruiting rankings are largely a one-year thing when they happen, and don't take into account when you have two consistent classes with 4 and 1 OL, immediately preceeded by a year where 6 OL were signed, only to lose 2 permanently to injury and another to diabetes (possibly to where he'll never play again). The skill positions are there, and a couple of QB's (if one doesn't transfer) who are more than capable. If noone is there to block, can you run the ball or complete a pass?
  15. Yes and no, Cuse. FSU is struggling this year because of recruiting woes over the past three years, compounded by injuries. When this team was healthy, let's not forget they were 7-0. After that, they lost 3 of their starting OL, and 3 of their top 6 DL members. Since that point, it's all been downhill. That said, it's not going to get better in the next couple of years, in spite of all the talent we have at the skill positions (which will make many on here quite happy, I'm sure). We've had OL classes the last couple of years that are probably similar to Kentucky's than anyone else - and that's not good for a top-flight program. Jeff Bowden is a problem, but not as large a problem as recruiting has been lately. We need a monster OL class this year, and it's not looking good - or it's looking good due to solid silent commitments. With that said, the players are extremely pissed at their performance from the Florida game, and some pride is on the line. I can't say that I agree with what others think, but don't be surprised if FSU comes out trying the same scheme Miami used to crush VT and makes a game of it. I just can't see it. Liberty Bowl for us - UGH!
  16. Well, it's not without merit. Let's not forget that's what NY wanted to do with Soriano, if they were able to get him back from Texas. And also, to further add fuel to the fire, Williams is done with the Yanks, so they NEED a CF. Doesn't seem too far-fetched to me, or way out of the realm of possibility.
  17. I haven't seen this yet, but I heard tody on the Score that "supposedly" the Cubs are very interested in Furcal along with 4 other teams. Not sure if this counts the Braves or not, but who else could be as interested as we are? I can imagine it would be among these guys: 1. The Yankees (and he would take over in CF) 2. The Mariners 3. The Nationals 4. The Braves Any idea who these rumored 4 teams are?
  18. Florida St. vs. Virginia has a bit of luster to it. When you take into account that it will be a nationally televised night game on ESPN, that UVA was blasted last year in Tallahassee (when the sports geniuses were POSITIVE they had the better team), and when FSU is looking like the team they were during their dynasty period, I'm pretty sure this merits "marquee" status.
  19. Both of the offenses in this game set football back a century. Until Smith and Robinson learn to use their playmakers to their advantage and get the ball in their hands (Wiliams, Ginn, Holmes, etc.) with room to run, they will continue to look bad. Yet another down year for the Big (can't count past) Ten.
  20. Just the type of player the Cubs wouldn't have patience for.
  21. WHat futuristic TV are you watching? The game starts in about 3 minutes ... lmao
  22. Since I refuse to watch this worthless team, I found another comment about the past few games very interesting. Apparently Cedeno needed to sit after being thrown out at third. A bad mistake, however, if it's negative reinforcement, then why wasn't Neifi yanked after his error caused a Cubs loss? Dusty F. Hypocrite, Esq.
  23. Hoops- I agree, but I'll be awfully disapointed if we sign Damon. He'll be a guy everyone is complaining about 3-4 years from the signing, wondering why Hendry spent $30M on his .240/.320/.375 line when he's 41 years old and rotting in CF.
  24. Saw a post in another thread and wanted to split this off. The other post (from Hoops) mentioned that the Cubs had roughly $50 million to spend for more or less 17 spots. Taking into account that a weak FA class exists, Dusty likes to play vets and the Cubs system is extremely young, is there a chance that we don't pick up anything other than 1-2 year contracts while waiting for the next FA class to pick up some steam? And if this were done, would the money be stashed in the bank for another year? Maybe a big splash like Furcal (just to be pre-emptive), but then let Murton and Pie cut their teeth, along with Ramirez, Lee, and Cedeno, with Barrett behind the plate? Not ideal to say the least, but we can see where they stand for a year and then plan on 2007 to go for it all with a big FA splash.
  25. Um, Dusty, you NEVER had a group of guys who came up as young players where you were able to instill these things. Are you just making up stories again and hoping no one will notice?
