Still no love. sorry man, but I have no love for Matheny or Ausmus as great all time catchers either. you have to do more than play defense to be great in my mind. That's OK. I agree...Grand Uncle Ray couldn't hit and doesn't rank. But, he was a member of the 1919 Black Sox and didn't take the money...
Not much love for my Grandfather's Brother. No wonder...I believe he held the dubious distinction of having the lowest AVG of anyone in the HOF...until Ozzie Smith arrived! Mike Schalk
The Trib knows that a winning team is more profitable than a losing one (see: 1998, 2003). They're just clueless. They've been willing to spend the money, but have no idea how to do so. Concur

Agreed...Michael Barrett is 100% responsible for the actions of Michael Barrett and so is AJP. AJP acted within the rules of the game...including the point where he raises his fore arm to Michael Barrett's head during the collision and then hot dogs by slapping the plate. It's tantamount to a spikes high slide into second base, a "too hard" tag at first base on a pickoff throw and decoying someone into a needless slide. All within the rules. Those situations commonly are greeted with the offender getting drilled in the next AB...in this case Barrett lost his cool and dished out immediate retaliation. High spirited play on both sides.
