Protect the plate with 2 strikes guys, we all learned this in little league… -
What’s going to help out PCA the most? If he goes down to AAA and his bat heats up then what? Does he get the call up again shortly after to fill in (if needed)? Then struggles again offensively in the big leagues and send him down again? Surely that can’t keep happening. He needs to consistently be productive at the plate, whether that’s figuring things out in AAA or in the big’s. He can’t just keep rotating between AAA and MLB (not saying that’s happening or will happen). Mervis crushed AAA and was really bad when he got called up. That happened to him what 2 or 3 times already? Now what’s left of Mervis since Busch is obviously a better fit now? I’m afraid the same thing that’s happened to Mervis might happen to PCA, maybe not defensively since PCA is or has elite potential there.

Love Rizzo, but he’s probably nearing retirement with his ailing back, age and lack of production.

If the Cubs did fire Jed or if they let him finish ‘25 who do they replace/hire after him? Hawkins?

Too bad he hasn’t found his groove at the MLB level yet, would be nice to have a lead off guy with elite speed who can get on base frequently and steal.

Why don’t the Cubs try batting PCA lead off? He can bunt, steal a bag or 2. Just a change for him and the lineup for that matter.

Morel could’ve tripled with no outs and he still would’ve been stranded at 3rd.

For $20 mil a year he kinda has to be.

You’re right, they do need 2 more Morel’s, Happ’s and Swanson (preferably ones who can hit well). They seem to lose sight of hitting every time a runner is in scoring position. 2 on no outs, no runs. The walks are great and all but they have to find ways to turn those walks into runs, those lead off doubles into runs and so on and so on. I’m good with giving Canario a shot, cant be any worse if he doesn’t hit cuz neither is PCA. It’s hard for PCA or any young hitter coming up to hit when you’re not getting consistent at bats.

I get it man, he’s hitting the ball hard and all and finding some bad luck but at the end of the day those stats don’t matter if he’s not producing.

What has he progressed well on? He’s 4 for his last 28 and batting .195
