  1. Cubs being one of those $500+m bids means there is nowhere for the FO to hide if they don’t sign Ohtani but try to cheap out on other FA’s. They will have already played their hand with that offer and showed the fanbase they have big money to spend.
  2. If we come away with Ohtani and Yamamoto, I swear I am going to buy a latex gimp suit and strut down the street.
  3. IMO, the official Shohei signing will just play out how most FA signings do. The National guys will post one tweet that Ohtani and a team are in agreement on a contract and then a few hours later it will become official with a follow up tweet listing the contract details. When the tweets drop, they will drop out of the blue.
  4. For all anyone knows, a $650 million offer from one team might not beat a $500 million offer from another team. It all depends what Shohei wants in his career.
  5. That is what happens when all your defenders place bets on the opposition winning the same match. 😂
  6. Good God, that is horrible. 😂
  7. Except for whatever he tweeted above. 😛
  8. It would take a “ton” from the Yankees as their farm system is pretty trash. A ton from the Yankees might equal to 2 or 3 decently ranked prospects from a top system like the Cubs.
  9. If someone has claimed that Olney is saying that Ohtani has decided, than Olney should know more than the bolded. Just one of those rumours that very likely isn’t true. In fact, all we have heard is Ohtani will decide before the winter meetings and now there is a mad scramble to get in “first”. The thing is that even that was an unverified rumour from “sources”. Ohtani could sign for a team in January for all we know.
  10. Yep, weirdest dude in the Hall of Fame.
  11. In the future, Greg Maddux will be rolling over in his grave.
  12. Lens were really put under the microscope. Hit for 6.
  13. Another Baseball insider fumbling over himself that the rumour the media created that Ohtani will sign before the winter meetings could be happening next week, incredible time. Another one for Scoop Heyman.
  14. What could work in our favour in the Ohtani/Dodgers connection is he has already been in California for 6 years and maybe he wants to play in a different state at this stage of his career.
  15. Glasnow is going to be playing for his next contract, so he will probably pull out 200+ innings in 2024.
  16. I feel like the handle would have been wasted if it was just KatyPerry, since it worked in tandem with WetButt22. So KatyPerrybootyhole was actually an appropriate handle.
  17. A KatyPerry handle does ring a bell from the PSD days lol. Edit: There you go. I thought there was more to the handle.
  18. What a wild, wild time that was when a handle called WetButt pretended to have solid sources.
  19. I’ll say that’s a unique setup.
  20. The way this club has seemingly been linked with everyone that is good over the last few weeks, it looks like we will get multiple somethings that are good this winter. Difficult to say who these players will be but the roster will continue to shape up beautifully.
  21. Aww, thanks man! :) Hopefully we do have some good memories this winter. Fingers crossed.
  22. Yeah, definitely sucks. People simply weren’t given enough time to make plans with each other to join different forums, so most people would have just instantly lost contact. Especially if you didn’t hop on PSD in those last 4 days. I only randomly searched for a Cubs forum a couple months ago and hit on with this place and spotted a bunch of familiar PSD names. My first PSD board I jumped on was the Bulls board 2008-2013 and that was such a busy board. I went back on there only in the last year and it was still relatively active but nowhere near what it was. Going on the Cubs board only came later (2015). I only had a handful of posts on the Cubs board in the last 3-4 years but always went back to the place to check up on things so I definitely know it was always active. Now I am back full time, like I used to so to be, so to speak. I tried to become an all-Chicago sports fan. But the Hawks and Bears thing never stuck and I don’t know if I have watched a handful of games for either sport. So no, definitely not a Hawks fan. 😛
  23. Some very good memories on there. And then the admin decides to give everyone a 4 day warning before they shut the place down for good lol.
  24. Nice 3-0 win. I forget how much Everton horsefeathers themselves when Tony Martial puts on the black gloves.
  25. Wtf Garnacho? What a goal.
