  1. Ian Happ should stop doing that terrible podcast where he gets like a 100 views per video, seriously what is with every athlete and having a terrible podcast? Maybe he should do the podcast with Mookie Betts than he would actually learn something, or maybe just focus on baseball for now
  2. I take it that this will be Gomes last year in Chicago
  3. Happ should be hitting 9th until he starts producing more
  4. I've missed watching that Justin Steele pitch, with him back this rotation is as good as it gets
  5. The Cubs could have 2 all-star starting pitchers this year, that are not named Justin Steele. Incredible.
  6. The Reds are about to be a team that's 2 games below .500, makes me smile given all the ridiculous, undeserved hype they got before the season started
  7. Assad is an amazing #3 pitcher. Hope he's here a long time
  8. What is that, 4 or 5 games in a row where they ruin the game. Even the win against the Mets that ended at the plate, they got lucky,.. maybe get some dead weight like Mervis and Madrigal off of this team and go sign a reliever worth a damn
  9. lmao it's actually 20 million a year and what power? when is the last time he's hit a home run? The fluke grand slam he got almost 3 weeks ago? If he was on the open market, nobody is paying him anything near what the Cubs gave him. Maybe the Cubs wouldn't have to count pennies if they stopped handing out sunk-cost contracts to players like Jason Heyward, Ian Happ and Trey Mancini
  10. He is vastly overrated. A corner outfielder who's best years will probably be .800 ops or less, doesn't supply a ton of power. He's the worst contract on the team currently
  11. I hope so. Before I even got the chance to read this today, they blew another one lol. I think they'll be fine later in the year, but it'll probably take a trade, a call-up, + a guy like Alzolay getting right
  12. It's just frustrating when they could have the best record in the NL possibly with a better pen
  13. That's true. I expect it'll get better once they get fully healthy, and they can start moving some guys into the pen, like Brown or Hendricks or whatever. Won't hurt to get Smyly back either and Merryweather.
  14. I disagree, they blew an 8 run lead against San Diego and they blew a save against the 8-24 Marlins, not to mention all the other debacles between then and now. This is the worst bullpen in MLB, which makes them the worst bullpen in America
  15. What is the logic of taking out a DEALING southpaw who is at ~85 pitches, a bunch of lefties coming up in the 8th, and an already terrible/depleted bullpen? I don't usually question King Counsell and glad it worked out (so far), but it's odd?
