    The Cubs not only need to move on from Jed, but they need to upgrade and improve their entire front office, scouting departments, player development, etc. Our manager and coaching staff isn't getting the job done either IMO. It seems like every time we trade for or sign an established and good MLB player, they get worse as soon as they get here. We're either bad at evaluating MLB players or bad at coaching them, though it's likely both. Go hire everyone away from the Brewers, since they are better than us year in and year out and with a fraction of the payroll.

    How likely is at that Brown is going to be able to develop a solid third pitch, like the Changeup he's working on, since he's nearly 26? I know it's not impossible, but it seems more likely than not...

    I am hoping we roll with Mervis at first base next season.

    Yeah, I can see them making two or three additions that don't involve giving up our top prospects. Possibly someone like Candelario to play third and a guy or two for the pen. Also, bring up Mervis and live or die with him at first base.

    If we're buying at the deadline, Soto is exactly the kind of player I'd be looking to add.

    The team's record is pretty bad against teams with winning records, so I'd probably be selling, but only if it can net us some top 50/top 100 prospects.

    Young is the definition of a 4A player. I was kind of hopeful that he might be able to help the team some this go around.
