Really wanted him when they were trading Robertson/Contreras a few seasons ago, was disappointed in the Brown trade. But that worked out pretty well

The return might not be great but im sure some team would take him with pitcher injuries decimating most of the league. Also some team might think they can get more out of him with a mechanical change. Kind of how like the Cubs did when they messed him up last season

Basically what Tryptamine said about him beating his periphs right now. Think it would be great to sell high on him now and achieve 2 things the FO is going to use an excuse not to spend next year. Replacement wise nothing but unknowns internally but could get an extended look at Brown and Wicks when they are healthy.

I believe he’s negatively affecting the pitching staff. Im ok with a catcher being a turd on offense but you have to have some value with the glove.

Literally anyone, hes the worst catcher in the league. His defense is ass and he has a 46 wRC+. Tucker Barnhart is outhitting him!!!!

They have a ton of fat on the 40 man position player wise. Not much on the pitching side, barely have enough roster spots for those 4 pitchers that are coming off the 60 day. Unless if they decide to part ways with Hendricks and Smyly or possibly trade Taillon

that’s what Jed was probably thinking too, with his aversion to long, big money contracts. In those last couple seasons Turner will probably decline but right now hes a monster 138 wRC+ and great value on the basepaths. thats what I miss about Theo, he treated each season like it was sacred, Jed configures his contracts so that he can sell in any given year

Might have a chance with both Harper and Schwarber out, but these Cubs have been getting dominated by everyone besides the white sox so maybe thats a little too optimistic
