  1. Yep, they're a good team with great pitching, but one big bat short now.
  2. Who needs to draft when you just can sign whoever you want.
  3. Lower deferrals than expected.
  4. Yea I hope he goes to the Blue Jays and the O's land one of Valdez/Gallen. Just let the AL East beat the absolute piss out of each other since they seem to just sign all the FAs
  5. It's always funny watching both sides of trade talks -
  6. Sounds like a Tucker decision might be coming soon - Have seen 3/$150m and recently 4/$200m thrown around. (Probably with opt outs and deferrals, but unknown)
  7. The odds of the Sox trading one of their young arms probably just went up...
  8. Weathers has potential to be pretty damn good if you can ever get a full season out of him.
  9. This has been floated around here quite a bit and I believe 1908 was the one who pointed out Shaw made huge mechanical changes with his swing (Around his leg kick) this season, so that piece doesn't really add up.
  10. Yea I'm not loving really any Nico trade tbh. More so just talking out loud to see if there's something that would make sense that I could be like, ok I don't love it but do see the direction there.
  11. Where would say a Wilyer Abreu land on your list? On one hand, Nico is absolutely the better player next season by probably 2 fWAR. On the other hand, you would have Wilyer for 3 cost controlled years following this season and could pencil him in RF moving forwards.
  12. The Red Sox have the pieces to make a Hoerner trade worth it. They would be my preferred trade partner if we are moving him
  13. I posted this in the other thread but best case scenario is the Giants showing the Cardinals they have other options and trying to drive the Donovan price down some. But knowing Passan, this likely means talks on Nico have been deeper than just kicking the tires unfortunately.
  14. Hopefully they are just trying to drive the price down from the Cardinals by showing “Hey, we’ll shift to Hoerner instead”. But if Passan is posting this, I’m guessing there has been a little more serious talks for Hoerner than we thought vs just kicking the tires.
  15. Bellinger is absolutely still their top target. Agree with 1908 here. The report in the OP is a couple days old now and has basically been shot down from both sides as not happening as the Cubs aren’t looking to move Nico unless they are completely blown away by an offer.
  16. And since 2022, he’s 6th overall! Wow, what a hitter!
  17. Hey I’ve got good news for you since you care about walk to K rate. Bregman had the 17th best BB/K rate in all of baseball last season (Min 400PAs)!! That’s pretty good right?
  18. I think the realistic option is not moving anyone to get under the cap and being able to add a couple pieces at the TDL without shedding salary.
  19. He was obviously still cheating duh. Especially the first half of last season where he had around a 160 wRC+ pre injury but stopped cheating post injury. I'm sure every other org was squeaky clean and wasn't experimenting with non traditional forms of sign stealing. We're only talking about billion dollar organizations here, they don't have a lot on the line...
  20. I think the Sox original offer was something like 4/$135 and then upped to 5/$165 once Boras initially said they had a better offer on the table. I doubt the specific offer of 5/$175 has been there since winter meetings, but yea, do believe it's possible that the Cubs had their best offer in a few weeks ago and Bregman/Boras tried to get the Sox to top it.
  21. Yea I think the Yankees would love to stick him at SS and feel they will be in on him hard in FA. They've liked him for so long.
