  1. Glad we didn't end up trading for Pablo Lopez
  2. I get wanting to have a near playoff ready roster day 1, but IMO there's more value in giving Mo runway at DH vs blocking him with someone who at most is going to be marginally better. If at the TDL he has a 115 wRC+, great, you don't need a LH hitting DH. If he struggles, make a move for a platoon bat (they're a dime a dozen) and send Mo down to work on the what they've learned about him facing big league pitching.
  3. Ended up being two Comp B picks according to Passan - Cijntje is #91 on pipeline. 2024 15th overall pick.
  4. Here's the Cots spreadsheet for anyone who wants to bookmark it - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1epJfx2VlkhWd--kaoTLWkYHD2OEetroV73Us1pbefGM/edit?gid=1520401900#gid=1520401900
  5. Personally, I think they are pretty damn good. That lineup is deep. Visual here looking at this years projections vs last season (Alonso hadn't signed when the projections were released last season, he was projected at 3 fWAR) Last season: Fangraphs has Robert Jr batting 8th and Benge, who is a top 20 overall prospect batting 9th. I like letting him find his footing with no pressure and there will also be no pressure on Robert Jr (We'll see if he stays healthy). SP looks much better on paper along with their BP appearing improved.
  6. Mets are going to be tough. Their lineup is stacked and now some much needed pitching help.
  7. I'm a McClanahan fanboy so I do that in an absolute heartbeat if he's on the table. I then try to risk it and extend him in hopes his injury history nets you 5 or so years at a lower AAV than he would get once he's proven to be fully healthy. The other part of this is you absolutely have to get an extension done with Nico if Shaw is gone. Having a bench super utility guy is a nice luxury this season, but it's way down my list of priorities.
  8. Yep, they're a good team with great pitching, but one big bat short now.
  9. Who needs to draft when you just can sign whoever you want.
  10. Lower deferrals than expected.
  11. Yea I hope he goes to the Blue Jays and the O's land one of Valdez/Gallen. Just let the AL East beat the absolute piss out of each other since they seem to just sign all the FAs
  12. It's always funny watching both sides of trade talks -
  13. Sounds like a Tucker decision might be coming soon - Have seen 3/$150m and recently 4/$200m thrown around. (Probably with opt outs and deferrals, but unknown)
  14. The odds of the Sox trading one of their young arms probably just went up...
  15. Weathers has potential to be pretty damn good if you can ever get a full season out of him.
  16. This has been floated around here quite a bit and I believe 1908 was the one who pointed out Shaw made huge mechanical changes with his swing (Around his leg kick) this season, so that piece doesn't really add up.
  17. Yea I'm not loving really any Nico trade tbh. More so just talking out loud to see if there's something that would make sense that I could be like, ok I don't love it but do see the direction there.
  18. Where would say a Wilyer Abreu land on your list? On one hand, Nico is absolutely the better player next season by probably 2 fWAR. On the other hand, you would have Wilyer for 3 cost controlled years following this season and could pencil him in RF moving forwards.
  19. The Red Sox have the pieces to make a Hoerner trade worth it. They would be my preferred trade partner if we are moving him
  20. I posted this in the other thread but best case scenario is the Giants showing the Cardinals they have other options and trying to drive the Donovan price down some. But knowing Passan, this likely means talks on Nico have been deeper than just kicking the tires unfortunately.
