  1. f this im leaving hopefully the cubs lose in a comical fashion
  2. thats simply not true
  3. Uhhhh yeahh this really makes you wonder. the cubs look like a minor league team, why aren't they great?
  4. Why are they talking about what an incredible risk it would be to trade for these guys if they're only giving up a c-level prospect and neither is signed past this season?
  5. the fact that jones isn't a disappointment is why he is not a good player and was a bad signing.
  6. ellis and chavez got hurt last night, not today. chavez was back in the lineup today and he tripled. ellis appears to have a broken thumb, though, so that's fun.
  7. i think cub fans deserve a one billion dollar payroll MAKE IT SO
  8. In order to get the Wild Card, the Cubs would have to catapult over 9 teams. There are other divisions, too. Houston catapulted over 12. Very tough road to hoe, but not impossible. We'll see what happens. houston had good players
  9. wtg royals DUMBEST TEAMS -- MAY 30, 2006 1-28. EVERYBODY ELSE 29. CHICAGO CUBS 30. KANSAS CITY ROYALS DUMBEST TEAMS -- MAY 31, 2006 1-29. EVERYBODY ELSE 30. CHICAGO CUBS
  10. astros are good -- jimy shows up and makes fun of us astros get bad -- jimy disappears astros sign roger clemens -- jimy comes back to make fun of us again
  11. adam is hitting 230/376/563 despite a ridiculously low 232 babip to go with his stellar 21.2 ld% mr dunn doesn't even need average luck to be better than all of the cubs combined!
  12. bynum homered yesterday, i was hoping for him. just kidding.
  13. did we ever figure out why ramirez is down in the order now? or why jones is starting vs a lefty?
  14. GO BACK AND READ MY ARTICLE
  15. hooray k-town finally defends someone besides the cardinals
  16. i've got tickets for tuesday, here's hoping mark is there with me.
  17. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/recap?gid=260526114 it also said it was his first career start at shortstop. i'm adding gibbons to my list of smart managers. between this and his usage of bj ryan, i'm pretty sold.
  18. pulled fat HAHAHAHA I SAID IT FIRST ALL THE FAT JOKES ARE DOWNHILL FROM HERE
  19. Are strikeouts really special in this regard though? If Albert Pujols could stop flying out so much while maintaining everything else, he'd be the best player in the history of baseball. Dunn can't just stop striking out while maintaining everything else, and Pujols can't just stop flying out while maintaining everything else.
  20. I mean...all this does is stop potential lawsuits and confusion. The ball is going to be worth a lot of money, so it seems prudent for MLB to mark them. Its hardly that special of an acknowledgement this man speaks truth
  21. at least his arm provides comedic value. the groundouts just piss me off.
  22. albert pujols has a VORP of 27.1. this gives him a VORPr (vorp per game) of .906. not even albert pujols is worth a run over replacement per game, and he's hitting 326/484/874 i'll grant you that the cubs fill-ins for lee haven't performed well, but there's simply no way to draw all this together and say that lee was worth as much as you are suggesting.
  23. 2007 is going to suck too let's just focus on the present
  24. after tomorrow we wont have to worry about the whole "hey at least we're still at .500" thing
