    how did i miss that he was basically the best pitcher in baseball, post-ASB?? Indians are sounding sure to give him the QO, FG crowd thinks he goes 4/49; that'd be tempting if we miss on Tanaka I'm thinking Ubaldo gets 5/75 or so in this market. i am way too lazy to confirm this, but i seem to remember the fg crowdsource contract thing routinely underselling what people would eventually get. obviously, this is a year-to-year thing and they can all see their past results, so maybe this is the year they correct that and start nailing things, but i'm inclined to think ubaldo will do better than 4/49.

    well, if we assume things will continue down the "everything goes exactly wrong" path we've seen the last few years, the cubs will make the highest bid by one dollar and then not get chosen. so that should be fun.

    It's gonna have to spread 3 blocks :( Can't even commit arson correctly Couldn't afford enough gas luckily, he probably hired this job done on the barter section of craigslist, so we should assume he'll be arrested and unable to make bail in the next few hours, thus forcing him to sell the team.

    That's just ridiculous. I think Ozzie would be a nice asset as a 3rd base coach. beerhere said that, not soul. also, ozzie is a ridiculous choice in any capacity. i'm confident our smart people know that, though.

    this is something i've wondered about as well. this doesn't make sense at all. i mean, obviously this would have happened by now if it was possible, but why the hell can't we just give csn and wgn some huge pile of cash tomorrow in exchange for letting us go get 100 million a season or whatever from what the new deal would be? even if ricketts really is rubbing nickels together to heat up his ramen while living in the visitors' clubhouse, this seems like the easiest investment ever for some other rando to wander into. give tom the buyout upfront, get all the money back plus whatever you want in a month when the cubs sign a new tv deal.

    i want to get much more into basketball this season. the last few years, i have gotten really into the playoffs but not watched much of the regular season. this year i want to follow the whole season. who should i be reading/following on twitter? what podcasts should i listen to regularly? i don't really have a favorite team.
