    i am really enjoying how much the red zone guy apologizes every time they go to the raiders-jags game.

    yeah, that stuff makes sense in a vacuum, but part of his argument with the panthers related back to horrible coaching decisions the panthers made in those losses by fewer than seven points. if that guy is still the coach, why would you assume those things are going to straighten themselves out?

    yeah, the argument for extreme excitement is really that this team is a work in progress and only slowly coming together, yet we are banking these wins while playing the worst football we'll play all year. we'll see if that's how things actually play out, but it's not hard for me to talk myself into that at all.

    it's not so much that they think the bears need to hurry, it's that the team (or at least cutler) is trying to hurry and plainly failing at it.

    if the players really hate these new rules so much, they're gonna have to figure out a way to stop killing people every week or it's just going to get worse. Brandon Meriweather did two helmet to helmets today, put one guy out of the game and then knocked himself unconscious on the second one. at a certain point it's not goodell's fault anymore in fairness, one of the player safety rules should probably just be "brandon meriweather is not allowed to play football."
