Soriano's deal was better. I apologize I should have clarified. Soriano never lived up to being paid $18 mil a year, just like Cutler looks like he is not going to live up to his contract if he keeps turning the ball over. Both were over paid, decent players, but not worth the money in the long run (though Cutler has time to make up some of it). Both teams overpaid and bid against themselves. There was no team going to give Cutler this money even if he was on the open market. That is all. Never did I compare the dollar amounts or say it was like a disaster.

Are you really basing this off a PFF score? He was fine yesterday. The throws over 20 yards were the Hail Mary, at least 2 non-called DPIs, 1 throw away, and the great Bennett catch, which actually was called DPI too. Oh Hell no, but the fumble was all on him and he again he didn't look that great. He is getting paid like a top QB, he needs to cut down on the turnovers and make better decisions. "Fine" isn't going to get the Bears in the playoff hunt this year or next. He needs to take the next step with his turnovers and get that fixed. Once that is done I think he has a chance to be great and in turn the Bears will be great.

Man, I am just not liking the Cutler contract every time he has a game like this. I know there are no alternatives but this feels so much like Soriano's deal. I love the dude, he's statistically the best QB I have ever seen in a Bears jersey. But after 3 years there is the possibility of cutting him with a pretty negligible cap hit, right? Ugh, I cant wait until next years draft when the "next Jeter" will be picked, or when the articles in Spring Training anoint the next Jeter, or when the first player to get kicked out of a game next years gets compared to Jeter, or when a SS runs into the stands and makes a "spectacular" catch a la Jeter! So when does ESPN add the "Jeter Way" to its list of stats for players? I think its grit + hustle + classiness + a winning smile + Years with Yankees and then divide that by how many hot women you slept with + Championship rings.

Ok, one of my coworkers is saying This Sterling issue is just a money issue and that deep down the league knows they cant force him to sell the team. The conversation was recorded illegally so it would get thrown out in a court of law and the owners have no recourse to force him to sell his team.
