then why is he even playing anymore, then? he's on the road already. if being with his family is such a high priority to him, he should just retire. Maybe he's decided getting paid millions of dollars is worth being away from his family for 80 or so days a year, but not 200 days. wait, is this early august or early april? early August...maybe mid-August? somewhere right in there, I guess. But if he goes to Boston now, he spends the next 3 months away from his family. I don't know a great deal about Giles' family, but it would seem he can't just up and move them all to Boston for the next 3 months. Maybe he doesn't think Boston's going to win it all this year and just making the playoffs isn't enough for him to be away from his family that long. my argument is that he's not spending that much more time away from his family than he would if he stayed in san diego. i don't know, maybe a playoff appearance would conflict with a pta meeting or something?

peon third world country? china is the largest country in the world and their olympic teams aren't just highly trained, they're bred especially for competition. That is why I do not want to lose to them, esp. that swimmer who coaches himself and all the ones not with the sponsors or with profession coaches(and had to work at home depot) those are the people I respect the most. Ya, I love the "we are the world " crap but when it comes down to it I want to kick some major commilist butt. (commilstic=communism and capitalist) and this makes me want to root for the chinese.

they're leading because they're better. the americans are sticking the landings but the chinese exercises are insanely hard. the triple twisty thing on the high bar isn't insanely difficult. I'd have given him straight tens of course you would, which is the least of the many many many reasons you aren't a judge. the americans aren't as good, they can't do what the chinese can. they're keeping up the best that they can, which is really amazing considering they've been patched together at the last minute

They said the high bar was the worst event for the Chinese. If they continue to have one guy make a mistake per event maybe an outside shot. I noticed China's difficulty is way beyond anything any other team does. i have noticed that. even if they goof up, they still get a high score because the routines are so difficult.

i don't know if they have a shot at beating the chinese, but they have a great shot at the silver right now with japan stumbling around like 6 o'clock at the karaoke bar.

For the love of... I have never seen this board put on blinders the way it has with Fukudome. He's not "just in a slump." HE'S JUST NOT THAT GOOD. This is insane, it's like last year when the casual fan message boards wouldn't accept anything bad about Theriot. I'm sick of the excuses. Really, even after we pantsed them four straight games in their ballpark, against their top 4 starters? They're winning because they're playing the worst teams in the NL at home right now. yeah, all all i know is that sheets and cc are doing it old school with shutouts and complete games. hopefully that means they'll be tired down the stretch, but they are dominating major league teams right now. please stop winning, brewers.
