This thread is fine. Boo you suck! Just kidding, but I was just trying to eliminate all the people complaining about the banter that is going to happen back and forth the next week. Last year it seemed like there was alot of complaining about all of it. No big deal, but with that said... It's when Big Ten season actually starts that we'll really get sick of you people. for what it's worth, chicago is the very beating heart of the big ten. I wouldn't say Chicago is the beating heart of the Big Ten. I'm not sure any town really is but if I had to choose I would go with Indy over Chicago anyways. Both cities host championship tournaments every year and both are centrally located but just from my own experience of being in both cities quite often 99% of people in Indy grew up with the Big Ten and root for a Big Ten team where as Chicago it's about 50/50 as many tend to only care about pro sports and many come to Chicago for the job but grew up outside the Midwest. i would wager that chicago, easily, has the most big ten college alumni living in or around it. plus, it's the midwest's media capital and is centrally located. does it attract fans of other conferences or from other areas? of course, but that's because it's a gigantic, world class city, which can hardly be held against it. as far as half the board not being from chicago, who cares? doesn't matter. the team is based in chicago and many of us are from illinois and are going to talk about the big ten. i'm not saying that the big ten should be the main discussion or even one of the more prevalent discussions regarding college sports, but you absolutely cannot be suprised when you come to a chicago cubs board and see a big ten discussion, that's ignorant. that's like that white sox fan who always calls up wgn radio and tells them they suck because they talk about the cubs too much.
