  1. they called a foul on northwestern, crazy.
  2. and another foul. unbelievable.
  3. and now they're just calling a foul on illinois every time down. this is northwestern you stupid bungholes.
  4. raleigh is a big oaf and that mirkovic guy hooks the defensive player every time.
  5. what was dragic thinking, anyway? "hey, i'm gonna be a hero!" now, you're going to be on a poster.
  6. the real negative of the run-first offense is that it's unsustainable and incredibly taxing on the players. yes, the jets have done it this year, but they'll be back to ordinary next season when they once again throw their line and backs into the meat-grinder and they have some injuries on defense. the only real way to maintain continued success is with a very good quarterback and a pass-first attack.
  7. That may have been the words he used to describe it, but Cleveland ranked 16th in both pass attempts and rush attempts in 2007, not exactly an overly run happy team. And he was working with a completely unestablished Derek Anderson and a recently signed 28 year old Jamal Lewis. He's also been in San Diego with a pass oriented team. It seems to me that he would be a guy who runs a balanced attack, but when he throws, he throws down the field, and not a bunch of dink and dunk WR screens. I would be leary because I don't know much about him, and I worry about Lovie's "off the bus running" nonsense getting in the way. But it would seem to me this guy could get the most out of Cutler. fair enough, his track record is intriguing.
  8. i'm a little leary of chud describing his offense in cleveland as a "run-first, attack style". you and i have been banging the drum for a pass-first coordinator since it became clear that turner would be fired.
  9. absolutely no chance to clear the puck. the flames smothered them. clear the puck next time guys.
  10. the problem is that ekgs aren't generally part of physicals, either. and an enlarged heart isn't something you can hear unless there's a murmur, which is what i'm wondering. if adams's heart was enlarged enough to cause sudden death, shouldn't it have been enlarged enough to cause a murmur? perhaps it just developed in the last few months?
  11. an enlarged heart should leave some kind of evidence on a simple ekg, and can be confirmed on an echo. Not true. For something so potentially serious it's something that's often very easily missed even with an EKG. i have an enlarged heart, and i had a funky rythm that was picked up on an ekg. my doctor knew what to look for, so, i guess it may have to do with the physician or with my individual situation, but if doctors are looking for these types of things, they'll probably find them more times than not--even without super-expensive prcedures.
  12. That this is a sympton of problems within the health care system and that echos should be a part of any sports physical. kids die every year from this sort of thing, and echos are way overpriced, which is pretty much what is driving up the cost of health care. make them less expensive and require more people to get them.
  13. what is?
  14. an enlarged heart should leave some kind of evidence on a simple ekg, and can be confirmed on an echo. echos are expensive, though, but imo, should be part of any sports physical. it's another part of the problem with our health care system.
  15. just give the wings the cup right now.
  16. because gould forces you to punt on your opponents' side of the field and rarely gets touchbacks. meh. Until someone shows me how many times the 5 yards that Gould can't convert from that some other kickers can and then factors in the fact that it's like 50-50 for even good kickers beyond 50, then I don't think that hurts us very much. The lack of touchbacks is valid but I'll take it as a tradeoff for having the second most accurate kicker in NFL history or whatever the stat is. At least until he has a year that he falls apart and can't kick crap which it seems like all kickers do. Then I'll give up on him. i'm not giving up on him, i'd just rather have rackers.
  17. should have taken the to.
  18. jackson had the td.

  20. has anyone ever done that before? if so, how could there be a rule against it?
  21. it was pretty fantastic.
  22. and i'd still take rackers. And you'd still be wrong. you're the man now, dog.
  23. weatherford is awesome, too.
  24. and i'd still take rackers.
