  1. no, but i still think he'll be a bust
  2. trust me, luck will be a third-stringer/master holder in 5 years or he will be in the US house of representatives. he didn't want to play for carolina, anyway, and this stops you guys from drafting your 10th qb in 2 seasons. he's probably thinking the niners will have the first pick next year, but he's in for a culture shock anyways because he'll have to play more than a few games outside the state of california and the west coast in general. at least he didn't pull a john elway.
  3. You think? the shots they've been getting have been good and they've used the 3 to set up the interior game. they haven't been hitting a lot of wild shots, they're just good shooters.
  4. 9-5 hard to predict anything with this team. but i will say that they can shoot. they have long periods of not being able to find a decent shot, though. i really like how efficient they've been behind the arc. they haven't fallen in love with the 3 even though they've been hot and they've really been exploiting teams down low. i don't expect it to continue, but this is a great start.
  5. wisco and northwestern combined to shoot 74 3-pointers against us. neither one fared very well.
  6. It's not a good rule. There hasn't been anyone that benefited from this rule either, as every head coach that's been hired certainly was qualified with or without the rule in place. And in an instance like this, where Harbaugh is a high-profile "get", why you HAVE to interview anyone else seems redundant to me. That said, the Fins know the rules and before pitching Harbaugh, they should have already made their "courtesy" interview. Of course, they also should have went ahead and fired their head coach before doing any of this stuff to begin with, so they get a big FAIL all around. Tomlin? correct. the rule is needed until blacks in head coaching positions mirrors the percentages among players. art shell was the first black head coach in the NFL, the first in how many years of existence? it ain't clearing up overnight. you can't force white people to hire black people, but you can force them to have to listen for a second. The rule applies to all minorities. Ron Rivera also applies. i'm just talking about the 2 predominant ethnicities in the nfl. not a ton of hispanics, not a ton of asians, more than a few pacific islanders, though. but generally, it's a black and white league. if rivera were hired as an HC, that alone would probably more than satisfy the player percentage or whatever you want to call it.

  8. 30 shots and 20 3 point attempts for NW in the first half.
  9. they get to thinking they can make any pass and dribble as sloppily as possible
  10. 23 and 16 now you can't make this [expletive] up
  11. 21 shots for northwestern, 14 3-pointers.
  12. meyers leonard
  13. don't blow this lead against these chuckers
  14. this fake juice is a little arrogant [expletive], isn't he? northwestern has no shame when it comes to only shooting 3 pointers.
  15. gerald ford, he's slightly more alive than hoke
  16. Yeah I read an interview on ESPN the Magazine (I was really bored waiting for my haircut) talking about that the other day. He said he does it because it pisses of the people who went to Idaho State, who want free publicity from him or something. He's a strange dude. And no, the people that say "THE Ohio State" (along with everyone else that went to Ohio State) are just giant douchebags. i remember when simeon rice used to say the school of hard knocks and it made everyone at illinois mad.
  17. how you like that sec? huh?
  18. the punter looked like he was playing qb in pinkel's offense.
  19. My bigger problem was the two times Iowa players (IIRC Brommer and McCabe) took the ball away from him, under the Iowa basket, and they called fouls on them. The second one, Sullinger basically handed the ball to McCabe. I can't wait until Iowa is good enough to take advantage of crappy refs. They aren't at that point...yet. i don't think iowa will ever be that good, but this pampering of sullinger is a disgrace. The comments in this thread during the first Illinois/Ohio State game will be epic. i suspect that both arch and augie will have fouled out before the half.

  21. How has Illinois not shown a commitment to winning? They've upgraded both practice and gameday facilities, they pay their coaches well, and it appears things are starting to turn around. I'm not a huge Zook fan, but the program is inching in the right direction. You are right about Illinois' facilities they have improved greatly. And that is a good start, but I'm talking about accountability specifically with the head coach. 28-45 since joining Illinois shouldn't be acceptable. I have always said that the expectations/standards for Illini football is lower than Illini basketball. No basketball coach would survive a record similar to Zook's. He has recruited pretty well with little to show for it (recruiting class of '06, for example). I may be in the minority on this, but I'm not impressed with a 7-6 record when halfway through the season it looked like 9 regular season wins were attainable. I gave him credit for getting the new coordinators but I just think Illni football should have higher expectations than what we have seen under Turner and now Zook. Now we have to hope that most of the following people Wilson, Liget, Leshoure and/or the coordinators stay for us to be good next year. illinois is not michigan. as soon as illinois starts having sustained success, their coach will jump for a better program and leave them with someone like lou tepper. our best chance for continued success is that zook pulls it together and continues to surround himself with good coordinators. he recruits well already, and the biggest part of college football is amassing talent. you cannot win without talent. if zooks maintains a reasonable record and success, he will never leave because no one will offer him a better job than illinois. zook really is the perfect fit. we just have to make it work.
  22. and i'm sure these classy fans were serenaded with a rousing, drunken chorus of the "the bears still suck" as they left.
  23. just wanted to show his fat face
  24. oh i'm dumb but it's okay
