i think what the bears have going for them on offense is something like the southpaw factor. the offense is unorthodox. it's not the conventional, methodical, work-your-way-down-the-field offense. a lot of the plays they've run successfully are not the plays you see them run all the time. cutler can hurt you in a lot of different ways and any time, anywhere. knox is one of the fastest receivers in the league and can stretch the field, from there, it seems like a lot of chaos coming at you. while rodgers is a very successful quarterback, you see him run that mccarthy system without much fault, there's still a very structured and visible method behind it. martz has so many plays that can go in so many different directions, it's got to be maddening for a defensive coordinator to game plan for. the plays can flop and make the offense look like it's struggling, but then, out of the blue, just pop long pass play on you that you couldn't see coming, and martz can game plan on the fly, spot a weakness and exploit it. in short, there's two very distinct and different offenses at play here, and i think we have the advantage of the unpredictable unknown.
