  1. If we move up to 32, i'd have a really hard time passing on Joey Porter Jr. even though we desperately need defensive line help.
  2. I just have this image of Jalen Carter destroying dudes like 25% of the time and having complete meltdowns on the field, complete with tears, mumbling incoherently to himself, and shaking uncontrollably the other 75% of the time. kind of like Bobby Boucher, but much worse.
  3. Gabriel is the worst. he's the Steven Seagal of Bears football insiders.
  4. Gonzalez kind of has that Charles V Holy Roman Emperor look
  5. Texans fans are like "it's just one spot, he made the right move." well, we'll see what happens with that one spot when it means the difference between having your franchise QB or not.
  6. Brown cuts it back quickly and runs just about as well as any running back in the draft. he's the anti-Monty.
  7. They picked up Sweat's option but not Chase's. Not sure if that means anything, but it could
  8. I think it's Chase that's available, pick swap and Chase?
  9. i DO like JSN and wouldn't be crushed if we took him.
  10. good point, but i think other options will crop up. neither is on Moore's level and either/both could be re-signed rather easily.
  11. Some people DONT forget. We were elite last year, if that makes a difference lol
  12. but what if we can get the best LT in the draft? we can probably debate BPA all day, but we still allowed 58 sacks last season, and Fields's pressure rate was even worse last year than in 2021, like historically bad. I also don't think we should pick JSN because we're afraid the Packers will take him. He's not Jamarr Chase or Justin Jefferson. He's good, for sure, but he's not a must-take. i think protection is more emergent for Fields. Find the best OL and then take Fashanu or Alt next year. That's starting to look like a line.
  13. I love JSN, but I just don't think we have the luxury of going WR in the first when our second rounder is tied up in Claypool. I liked the trade because I still like Claypool, but the trenches need the attention. I think DJ Moore is a similar receiver, anyway, with more straight line speed and similar agility.
  14. Basically, build yourself an oline like they have in Detroit and profit. This is probably my last mock of the year. https://twitter.com/Sulleymon/status/1651576744652972033?t=DJr1tXA2QLbuNXnmsgtpbQ&s=19
  15. I don't think it's an even blame situation, though. And a lot of sacks he avoids because he's a freak.
  16. Need to add to the line at some point, like premium talent. if we're rebuilding in the trenches, the rebuilding needs to start before Brisker and Gordon are approaching their second deals.
  17. i got approved and the email got buried. forgot about it.
  18. this is fair, for sure, but Fields has never really gotten the chance to be comfortable in the pocket so he really can't set his internal clock. imagine if he got the same pockets that Goff is getting.
  19. Fields gave a taste of what he can do for you last year. I think he's fully capable of being a more complete passer than Hurts, and thusly, an absolutely stupid video game player. You have to go for that, you have to give the league something it's barely ever seen on a football field. there were times last season when Fields was being pressured on any true pass set, but I was still confident he would convert 3rd and longs. Get him more protection and then build him a statue in every town from Chicago to Rock Island.
  20. i think they need the best option which help protects Fields. I mean, he got sacked 55 times last year. Corner is deep in this draft, deeper than Tackle. I really like Jakorian Bennett, who should be available on day 3. if Skoronski and Wright are both gone, I think you trade down and try to get who is left in the middle first, like Harrison. but then I think it's necessary to double up in the second or third, like Freeland, who fits the mold as well. But Freeland can't be your highest drafted OL.
  21. nah to JSN 9luxury), nah to Nolan Smith (doesn't seem like a fit in the 4-3), nah to Witherspoon. I think the most important thing to the team is to foster the development and ascension of the most vital player at the most vital position. Fields is your best player and your ticket to the playoffs. I hear "let's take the most talented player no matter what," a lot. first, BPA is always subjective due to any number of factors, and if you build elsewhere when your line is incomplete, you're going to end up rebuilding again, because you didn't help protect the QB and you ruined him or got him hurt. I would accept Jalen Carter if he falls, because you take 5 cheap years of Chris Jones if you can get them. But then you have to trade back up into the first or high second to get one of the tackles. Poles passed on tackle in FA, he can't do it again. Line needs tio be built and Wright and Skoronski are the only guys ready to help immediately. imo.
  22. it's Wright, Skoronski or bust for me.
  23. I'm confident that the Bears can exploit the average rush defense of the Ravens and use the play action to torch them down the field. Meanwhile, Joe Flacco throws the Bears first 3 interceptions of the season and gets sacked like 7 times. bears win 30-7
  24. That is the real question.
