  1. and miss the burning down of the ghetto? never.
  2. I didn't realize you were as blind to the line problems as you appear to be. Anybody taken in the 4th this year is automatically more talented than 3 of 5 bears linemen. They didn't need a [expletive], let alone a 7th rounder that's just not true. there's no reason to take a 4th round lineman when you have a bunch of them. the line is absolutely fine except for LT.
  3. He's six feet tall. That's not undersized. He's not 6'. Hes 5'10". And Jeffery isn't 6'4" he's under 6'3". No point in pretending these guys are more than they are. jeffery is 6-3 1/4
  4. i want burfict in the 7th
  5. it's not worth a 4th rounder if a guy you like is on the board, which he was. i'm telling you, rodriguez is a player.
  6. Lots of teams passed on Massie, but not a lot of teams have a LT that has given up 23 sacks in the last 2 years and had its QB injured 2 years in a row, costing the team a legitimate shot Superbowls. cutler was injured against san diego because knox fell down, not because of webb. that said, they needed to pick reiff in the first round, that's where they missed. why pick massie and get another backup? their depth is fine. Doesn't really matter HOW Cutler got injured. Bottom line is he took too many hits and didn't finish the season for the 2nd straight year. Many considered Massie as a starter ready NFL RT, with some athletic upside to play LT in the next 2-3 years. Also, the Bears depth also is NOT fine. The only OTs on the roster are Carimi (who missed 14 1/2 games last year) and J'Marcus Webb. Lance Louis and Chris Williams are failed OTs that should never go back. louis played really well at RT this year. williams is the backup at LT, with spencer/e. williams/rachal all capable guards with spencer as a backup c and garza who can play either guard position. they don't need any more backups.
  7. i'd be surprised if it wasn't a ligament tear.
  8. Hardin's not a CB. He wasn't even going to play there this year, if he hadn't missed the whole year. i'd like to see him at least tried there. he has sub-cb speed and he's bigger than tillman. I don't know. Doesn't look like he can turn and run with WRs who have some twitch and/or great straight line speed. He still doesn't have Megatron/Chocobot speed, and he doesn't have Greg Jennings quickness. and that's probably what makes him a safety. but man, he is fast.

  11. he's so crispetty-crunchetty
  12. please, he prefers chocobot
  13. vogelbach and baez gunned down in tucson by old timey gunslinger
  14. good news is that we might be better than everyone but miami without rose.
  15. Cutler, Forte, Hossa, Rose, Garza probably tears his rotator cuff next month. yeah, i've never seen anything like this happen to one sports city
  16. first hossa, now rose. what's next?
  17. Are you sure it's that much different? Last year, 2nd round, Marvin Austin goes off the board. Bears trade up 9 spots to take Stephen Paea because he's the next best DT on the board in their opinion and they don't want to miss out on him. This year, 2nd round, Stephen Hill goes off the board. Bears trade up 5 spots to take Alshon Jeffery because he's the next best WR on the board in their opinion and they don't want to miss out on him. Last year, take a Pac-10/12 safety in the 3rd round that was a converted CB that had impressive measurables for Height/Weight/Speed. This year, take a Pac-10/12 safety in the 3rd round that was a converted CB that had impressive measurables for Height/Weight/Speed. Reached for a QB in the 5th last year. Reached for an H-back in the 4th this year. i was as big of a critic of paea as anyone, he finished the season very well and will likely be a starter going forward. stephen hill is not as good as jeffery, nowhere close. think dhb. conte is a starter and wright is a starter, i believe that hardin will be a starter at cb at some point, rather than fs.
  18. i will remind you that some of you wanted to pick a middle linebacker in the first round.
  19. He was the top rated player for like 80 picks, everyone was passing on him. His value point fell right to where we picked. It was such an obvious pick for us it isn't even funny. It has nothing to do with Kiper. why is it an obvious pick? we have a right tackle and we have guys that back up right tackle. massie is not a left tackle and that's what we needed. i'm ok with not picking a tackle at all if we didn't do it in the first two days.
  20. they obviously felt that he wouldn't be available in the 6th, and they wanted him more than a player that they liked less. i don't see how that's so hard to grasp. That's not hard to grasp at all. Obviously they made the picks they wanted to. It's not like some random drunk fan was calling them in, having hijacked Emery's war room. No. Indeed, this is the real Emery. i doubt many fans of any team have gotten the drafts that they've wanted. i'm not going to say that the "pros" don't make mistakes, they obviously do, a lot. but let's give these guys some time. jeffery is an impact player, and the more i think about hardin, the more impressed i am with his tangibles (a 6'3'' db in a zone scheme that runs a 4.34? i don't think i've ever seen one of those) . i see the value in rodriguez, he is a load with good hands that runs very well and is a bit of a thug. i can get down on those 3 picks. it's the mclellin i'm not sure about, but he'll get his time to impress me.

  22. Because he wasn't worth a 4th round pick. You can't just blindly identify guys you like and take them ASAP. It's horrible strategy and completely idiotic. yeah, you take guys you don't like, that makes a lot of sense. That is dumb. Nobody said that. If you didn't like any other players there you aren't a good scout. This is tunnel vision. Emery said he watched more temple games than anybody, it's pretty clear he has an observational and/or selection bias. It was a bad pick. you said that. the assumption that they took a guy in the 4th round that was behind someone that they liked more is idiotic. you can question their evaluation of talent, but not their strategy.
  23. the bears need a starting left tackle, they don't need depth on the o-line, they have depth pretty much up and down that line, but nobody that can protect jay's blind side. there is no one left that offers them that, after passing on reiff and adams. they've taken a couple of offensive weapons for jay, and some projectable defensive players, one i disagree with taking, the other one has some very desirable qualities for a zone scheme. i see the sense in taking hardin, he's fast and big and can probably start across from peanut or at least line up at safety.

  25. they identified him as a player that they wanted and they took him. why would they take another player that they didn't like as much if they thought he'd be gone in the 6th?
