  1. Nate Bump! He went to Penn State. I met him a couple of times.
  2. I think it's blatantly obvious that this was forced on him from above.
  3. Sombody's playing with the contrast in the truck.
  4. Good lord is Miguel Cabrera a tank.
  5. I'm not sure he could make it to third if he did tag. C'mon. Encarnacion was in the right field corner, with his back to the infield.
  6. Well, it's already better than any time in the past week.
  7. If by too giddy you mean he'll have to change his pants during the commerical break, then yes. I personally feel that that's a proper level of giddiness.
  8. I like this lineup, with hairston rotating around between CF, LF and 2B
  9. This website is spectacular.
  10. I will say this: if, in two months, I'm at Ryno's Number Retirement game and the team is still horrible and Dusty's still the coach, I will have a spectacular sign out in left. "We're sorry you can't be proud to be a Cub today, Ryno."
  11. Nice fielding. As Ronnie would say, "Gah! Jeez!"
  12. Can I call him Pee-rez, or would that make me 6 years old?
  13. i do not! I'm just a masochist. Cubs fan = masochist This is true
  14. I think that low, guttural sound you hear in the background is Ronnie choking on his own vomit.
  15. Who said Grieve should replace Macias? I believe the initial point was that Grieve would be a better PINCH HITTER than Macias. If you care to argue that fact, I suggest you watch Macias once in a while...Macias helps with his "versatility"...but Grieve's got a much better bat than does Macias, end of discussion. Yeah, he has a nice bat, but does he have good body language?
  16. I'm guessing this post is directed at me. Thanks, tbird, I went ahead and checked the stats for both Dubois and Macias as pinch hitters. Dubois-OPS in 12 AB's is .667 Macias-OPS in 30 AB's is .591 Neither of them are any good but your argument that Dusty made the right decision is completely off base. not to mention that one has power and one doesn't, or that one hits flyballs (which would score a runner) while the other is a groundball machine. Or that one stikes out 3 times as much as the other. Give it up on Dubois already. He is not a better option than Macias as a PH in that situation. The guy hits .167 as a PH and has a huge problem making contact. Power is no good if you can't hit the ball. Considering the rate at which Macias hits grounders, I would absolutely prefer the guy that strikes out 3 times as much in that situation. Plus, THE BASES WERE LOADED.
