#ODDTHISGOTIGNORED Do you think Russell has a separate, superior offensive skill set that he only breaks out when he starts? His 2019 OPS is .733. He sucks. Stop saying otherwise. Young players tend to be bad off the bench which is a hard role for most players, and he made a bunch of outs as PH when he was dealing with the hand injury.

That play vs the Pirates was three weeks before they sent him down, and he later came out about the signs on his own.

Would be cool if these bad teams stopped bending over for the Cardinals. Pirates gave them a run in the first in all 3 games, go to KC already score without a hit on a error, balk, GB and SF.

Did he get sent down for his .798 OPS as a starter or the .800+ OPS he had the month leading up to getting sent down?

It was a 122 after yesterday game, but will go up again after today. In today's game he homered for the 3rd game in a row going 1-for-2 with a pair of HBP. His OPS on the year in Iowa is .987 which leads the team even better than Robel, and in 14 games sent getting sent down .362/.441/.702/1.143. One thing Russell talked about before his call up was learning to take responsibility for his actions. He continued to deflect blame in his personal and baseball life for his mistakes. Hopefully he does become a better human being and one of those steps is taking responsibility. He may be one of the best 25 players, but he’s not currently among the best 25 teammates or people. He talked about missing some signs on his own and was rewarded by getting sent to the minors. People called him dumb for that, then also rip him when he doesn't.

The Cubs need a good small sample size tonight to get this small sample size series off to a good start. The Phillies are 27-36 since peaking 11 games over .500 back at the end of May.

If you weren't a classi liberal who gets emotional and never looks at any facts, you may noticed the Cardinals have a losing record when Molina starts. They also have a winning record when the other two catchers start, even the rookie with a .570 OPS. But those stats are meaningless since the Cubs are 15-9 when Chatwood starts and nobody is wanting Tyler out there starting games. #WHATWILLHEMAKEUPNEXT

Hope Vargas is washed up to a point they can finally hit him. Yu/Russell are 3-for-4 with a HR and did the damage earlier this year, everyone else is 9-for-60 lifetime.
