  1. Wasn't a fan of the draft to begin with so wasting the 10th round pick makes it even more frustrating, hope they at least get Chambers signed. The Reds got the 170th rated guy in the 12th round a SS from PR for 249K or 124 towards the pool. That would been our 4th ranked guy if we could have just signed a cheap SR signing in that 10th round and still had money left to give to Chambers if he doesn't get signed.
  2. Its going to suck if they can't get Hendrie signed when they could have just taken a NCAA SR pitcher for a couple grand and had 140K to spend elsewhere, rather than waste a 10th round pick on nothing and missout of the 142,200 slot and the 5% they could go over on that.
  3. Leading off and playing 2nd and CF feels like Theo may be changing his mind on Nico's timeline and could look to him at being Whit Merrifield in 2019 rather than giving him plus others up to get the older version.
  4. MLB.com's draft tracker has Deppermann signing for 50K or 144K and change less than slot.
  5. I ran out of things to break so I hope this pick works out.
  6. Jim Callis has hit all 11 and has us with Davidson in his just before the draft mock.
  7. Mayo showing me some love on his last mock.... https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-mock-draft-on-june-2
  8. Good to head they are expected to take a college bat. Its no secret I want Misner, but I hope whoever they take has had more sucess with wood bats than some of the other names they've been linked to. I would love to know what kind of money these guys would settle to save some money to throw at a arm later.
  9. That PG mock had Misner slipping to 36th. Clearly I'm biased being a believer in his tools, but if he's there I have a hard time seeing the Cubs passing on him with the level of the offense in the system. All I can see is raw Cody Bellinger when I watch him play, I hate to get my hopes up think there is a chance because one of the other 26 picks before us will have someone who sees it as well.
  10. Wish Robel Garcia was a year or so younger to see what type of grades they would have given him on his comeback in affiliated ball.
  11. I didn't even realize Brady McConnell was eligible for this draft, I would like to have a shot at him sometime after the first round.
  12. .202/.304/.266/.570 in 309 PA in the Cape Cod League with the his second year being worse then the first is scary,
  13. I've been meaning to sign up for a while to talk about the upcoming draft and been lazy, but the idea of getting Misner at 27 did excite me enough to sign up. I honestly don't know what to think of Sikkema since he doesn't always throw as hard as you would expect him to with his build, but gets results with good spin and deception and was excellent up at the Cape. Hard to tell if that would translate to be a LHP starter at the back of a rotation or a good LHP out of pen, but I always want hitters over pitchers as a personal preference for that reason.
  14. He didn't play in the Cape Cod League but he went to the NECBL in 17 and posted a line of .378/.479/.652/1.131 which was good enough to lead the league in hitting, his 8 HR were tied for 8th so he's had success with wood bats. Here is the write up PG had on him being their top prospect of the league.
  15. Misner would be a steal at 27 with his power, speed and defense. I feel his bad SEC numbers are due to him being on a island with no help in the Missouri order and having to expand his zone to have any shot to help his team who doesn't have much surrounding him, and being a bit behind after missing so much SEC play in 2018. For us to have any shot to get impact we have to roll the dice on distressed assets like we did last year with guys who slipped due to injury or poor play. And people would be falling all over themselves if they had a shot at Misner a few months ago who opened at 11 on MLB's list before falling to 19th. I doubt he will still be there at 27 as his tools and make up stand out too much, but if he's there I would be way too hard to pass on him.
