    Unfortunantly, the Orioles have been smart and haven't taken on too many bad contracts. Miggy in fact has the largest, followed by Javy, both keepers for them.

    George is the same one who said that the 8o'clock press conference was to announce a trade, most likely Lugo or Pierre... I don't listen to him much anymore, since I can't remember a story that he's been correct on that isn't obvious.

    The Eric Young I remember played 2nd base, unless you're thinking of a different player. the one on MLB.com was listed as an outfielder... and, while it is the same Eric, he played more games in the OF last year then at 2B

    I don't think Nomar is going to be willing to take a 2 yr, 6 mill. dollar offer to be back up, I think he believes he can still start, and will go that route. Also, I wouldn't count on Macias being cut. In fact, I would probably guess that he is going to be on the bench next year, as he is a Dusty guy.

    Damon Buford? No no no. If anything, the number should be retired in honor of Scott McClain. :wink: That said, the number should be open for Pierre once he gets around to picking his Cubs uniform number. Henry Blanco, Jody Gerut and Scott McClain all had flings with the number 9 last season. But Pierre will get his 9. But then Henry switched to 24, and became Hank White, Superstar catcher!
