  1. Hmm. On one hand, we have a very well thought out piece detailing what the "guard" does to help Bonds. On the other hand, we have a 6 word sentence dismissing the piece as "bogus." Care to back up your statement in any way, shape or form? Or is one sentence good enough?
  2. I'm not going to claim that Kendall has a gun, but he has zero passballs as a Cub this year (so it's unclear why you think 'a lot balls' got by him), and a good number of the stolen bases against the Cubs the past week have been on the pitcher. Many didn't even warrant a throw because of the pitcher. They are referring, I believe, to that he has muffed throws from the outfield that could have gotten people.
  3. No, he hurt is hamstring, didn't you read Sori's edit?!
  4. Yep because we have enough power to back it up Because all those homers he was hitting was really helping? He's been cold for a couple weeks now outside of a couple games. He really has not been doing as well as people think.
  5. Yeah, lets not wait to see what it really is, lets just over react now... brilliant.
  6. Too bad we only won 2 of 4...
  7. I hate Philly. Play hard against the Cubs but suck against the Brewers.
  8. Once he activates it, just click on the premium link on the main page. If you are already logged in through the Regular Boards, it will just let you on, if not, there is a link to log in.

  10. In celebration, I give you: THE BEERBARIAN VS THE PEPSI KNIGHT! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v512/auron_the_masta/1184634871721.jpg
  11. Doesn't really matter if Rollins is on second or third, single still scores him. Was ball 4 as really a strike like gameday shows it as?
  12. Okay, there is something about this team when Eyre manages to strike out the side in a 4 - 4 game against Philly, a team that always seems to beat the Cubs.
  13. gameday has ball 2 over the outside part of plate, clearly a strike. Is this ump really that bad?
  14. Are you sure that wasn't a strike, blue? Gameday only shows it in the otehr batters box.
  15. is it that big of a deal that you have to make an extra post about it? It's helpful because gameday and gamecast often are behind while the posters here aren't. Yeah, there have been several times where the inning ends and gameday has to jump 3 batters to get to it, after sitting frozen for 10 minutes, so its nice to have p-b-p that is actual play by play and not 3 plays every 10 minutes.
  16. if moyer reaches, we have a new Glendon Rusch. Stupid Rusch, now cancer is on second...
  17. Agree 100% True. I just never dismiss the Cards, no matter what. And I strongly feel nobody else should, either. Ever. Well, OK -- last week of the season and we're 7 up on the Cards, then I'll dismiss them. Yep, only time I'll dismiss them is when that little number near their name in the standings changes from 1 to E.
  18. The critical flaw with this question is that it is too simplified in this format. The trades available all depend on the cost and how much it would actually help. Should they have made a trade? Sure, if it helped the team and did not absolutely clean out the system, or even take too many top prospects. Should they have made a trade for the sake of making a trade? Hell no.
  19. Something like this, I would guess: http://img451.imageshack.us/img451/9448/17561070hk3.gif
  20. Well, its no: http://www.theage.com.au/ffximage/2007/06/06/2012_narrowweb__300x338,0.jpg But it will do... I guess.
  21. I went to a Frederick (O's High A) vs Winston-Salem (WS High A) game this past Saturday and the ump was horrible. First he calls a W-S guy out on a play much like yours with a swinging bunt down the first base line that the Fred. pitcher fielded and then had to dive for the tag because both the firstbaseman and the secondbaseman broke for the ball, despite the fact that it looked like the pitcher missed, and then on the first play of the top of the next inning, the first baseman for W-S fielded a ball and clearly tagged the Frederick runner, but the runner was called safe. The W-S manager argued and managed to get the call reversed after bringing in the homeplate ump. Later in the game, on what was a tailor made double play ball to short, the SS for Winston-Salem underthrew the ball to 2B, causing the 2nd baseman to misplay it and have it come out of his glove, the runner slid in, clearly safe because the ball was on the ground, but the ump still called him out and would not listen to the Fred manager. This probably cost Fred the game as they were rallying from being down 5-0 and were down 5-3 with runners on 1st and 2nd and 1 out in the inning. That and he blew a couple of pick offs that were the Fred pitcher clearly had the guy.
  22. I don't get it either. Does the completely useless by September acronym really apply to anything besides the 1969 and 2004 teams? I can't think of any other teams that were actually successful enough to choke in the regular season. 2001?
  23. The F5 key is your friend.
