  1. I'd be interested to know how the home fans are treating him in Arizona so far.
  2. There is a lot more parallels but holy crap is Todd like 100% Gob. Oh absolutely. Undercover Boss showed us he can’t even sell hot dogs or park cars.
  3. and they can't even make money off that hotel I do wonder what kind of business they do in the off-season. There’s really nothing going on in Wrigleyville in February. But I’m sure they thought about all this before they built the damn thing.
  4. well, he probably didn't have a script, but he was definitely coached and given some talking points. he sounded like he was a robot reading a script the whole time, but, as others have mentioned, he kinda always sounds like that. it's also entirely possible he looked directly at the reporter he was answering when giving these canned responses. Yeah I listened on the radio. Maybe I’d have felt differently if I could see his face.

  6. His press conference today was terrible. It was obvious someone had taught him a few phrases which he repeated in a robotic monotone for about twenty minutes.
  7. I know Curt Schilling’s looking for a job.
  8. schwarber is a big thick rust belt boy who loves cops, doesn't take a lot of deduction to figure out who he didn't vote for because he's a millenial but would have voted for if he had registered to vote (its donnie trump) He's only part thick rust belt boy. He's also show choir boy who escaped rust belt home town. Based solely on his walk-up music, he’s probably the least Republican guy on the team.
  9. This really was the Bears’ year.
  10. Don't they usually/always give that game to the team that wins the prior year's Super Bowl?
  11. Anyone know if this horsefeathers is supposed to be at the Convention next week?

  13. It's just bizarre to me that the Convention is NEXT WEEK and the Cubs haven't done anything.
  14. I know the league screwed over the Bears earlier in the season when they flexed them to Sunday night before the Thanksgiving game, but if the Colts win tonight I have a hard time believing they’ll make a road Sunday night team play the first playoff game on Saturday. Well, they are making the Chargers play a 10am LA time game. Yeah but no one cares about the Chargers.
  15. My mom's been planning a surprise party for my grandma's 90th birthday... on Saturday night. Sorry, grams.
  16. The newspaper used to be pretty conservative, but it has moved slightly to the left. It used to be that their political endorsements would be basically very Republican unless a Democrat was running unopposed. The Trib was traditionally mainstream, middle of the road, “chamber of commerce” Republican. They’ve been more anti-Democrat machine politics than pro-anything in particular for most of their history. In 2016, they endorsed Rubio in the Republican primary and then refused to endorse either candidate in the general. You can put them with the other “Never-Trump” Republicans that don’t really seem to have a home in American politics anymore. They endorsed Obama in 2008. It was big news at the time because the paper was known for being so conservative.
  17. It bothers me somewhat that the schedule still doesn't list a first pitch time for opening day in Texas.
  18. Picture quality's pretty bad, but I think that's Vijay Longlastname, the traveling secretary.
  19. Wrigley is an old, dead rich white guy. So is Sheffield. Seems inevitable that there will be a Ricketts street or square or whatever. (Clark was a Revolutionary War general, Addison was a doctor, and Waveland was named that way because it used to flood a lot. Thanks, Google!) I believe this is also the reason there was once a team named the Chicago Whales that played their home games at Wrigley Field...
  20. I thought they didn’t do this on the field if the road team won.
  21. Is there no way to stream MLB Network? I'm stuck at work and Brewers/Rockies is blacked out on MLBTV but there doesn't seem to be any other legal way to watch.
  22. Technically every game involves at least one team that will not win the World Series.
  23. I stopped at season 5. All reports indicate I did the right thing. I stopped after season 3. I asked friends to just give me the details on later seasons lol. I'm pretty sure I wasn't missing much. You missed crazy John Lithgow having Dexter over for Thanksgiving dinner.
  24. The last few years of Dexter got so fun-bad.
