What's wrong with making light of a situation many of us have a difficult time facing? In a lot of ways it is a coping mechanism. Numerous times I have personally made light of tragedies in my family. It's what I do. When others do it, I don't see it as disgusting. Secondly, unless you truly know a person, not what your perception of this person may be, you can't state that you fully understand the loss. This is the internet. Everyone will say they have been in a similar situation, so they feel depressed, sad, or whatever. What relevance does it really have to your everyday life? At this point very little unless you were speaking to the deceased on a regular basis, or actually knew them on a personal level. Get over it. I still give kudos on the joke.

All class. Oh get off your high horse. I made no comment about his dad other than hoping he'd get better. I'm not going to question the intent of your post (only you know that), but it came out very bad. It was very obvious that he wasn't going to get better; in fact, he was undoubtedly already dead when you made your post (Laura's post mentioning the announcement of his death came less than 10 minutes after your post, and it certainly takes more than 10 minutes before a death is announced publicly). Your post came off as a potshot at Cliff during a time of personal tragedy. It's certainly valid to complain about his loss of power, but this thread isn't the proper place for that. I don't know I thought it was kinda funny actually. I mean it sucks that his dad died, but that doesn't mean you're not alive.

My sister watches it all the time... It wasn't so bad when I was 14. But now I look back, and it's very dorky. I still like it though. :oops: :lol: Yeah, it was wonderful when it was on TGIF and I was 10, but now, not so much. You look at it different now don't ya? I look at that show now and think "no wonder they make fun of white people". :lol: :oops: I'll give that one to ya. I was just having a conversation about this the other day, and it went something like, if I watched the shows back then now i wouldn't be watching them, or something hooray for run on sentences.

Woo hoo, I get to sound newbish. I would take a chance on Gagne. 2 years max, at a cheap price. Wood on the other hand I want to be in the Cubs' bullpen next year. Really I can see him having no problem adjusting to the pen, and to top it off, imho, I don't see him having nearly the struggles in the pen that he had as a starter. Also, I'm sorry but I got a little excited the minute I saw him come out of the pen, and made everyone look like fools. Check any of the other posts I've actually made, and you will see I am a huge supporter of Wood. Close to being the only one left.

Please don't tell me this is a statement of endorsement. Does the man deserve to be let go... yes. Did he help at all in his tenure with the Cubs...somewhat. Should he still be treated with respect, because he has treated the fans with respect... yes. Dusty needs to part way. He hasn't really worked out with the organization, and I'm sure he can find a better fit elsewhere. This doesn't mean he should be trashed and humiliated on his way out. He can probably say something to do it on his own. Show him the class he shows the fans when he is speaking to them after games.

I never understood the fascination with Hairston when we got him other than many absolutely hated Perez. That isn't a reason to want to play him over Perez. They both sucked and they both still suck. It's like choosing mono over chicken pox. I'm glad they're both gone. We never should've acquired either one in the first place. Actually I think Neifi would be shingles.

Oh yeah Banedon, I didn't actually want to single you out, this was just the question that caused my rant to happen. I don't want to awaken a sleeping giant (meaning you could probably kill me hands down in a debate) so I am actually going to sleep this time. One more post till 600!!!!

I'm sure he did at some point (Cough 1998). Another question this has me wondering is what about Frank Robinson. I wonder if he goes through some of the same things? Personally, I think most of the people that would send a manager emails using racial slurs to show how much of an idiot the manager is, are really dumbing down the argument about why the manager needs to be fired. And yes, I met Dusty, as a person he is incredibly friendly. In a way, I'm saddened by the way the he is being treated because he takes a lot of time to talk with the fans. I also think that anyone who didn't know him, and took took the time to write him in a discriminatory way, are bunch of idiots. That is all. The Cubs won tonight, and I've upped my post count by almost a fifth in the past week. Gnight nsbb, and this outfit remains on. falling
