Yeah this trend has been very obnoxious. I wonder if the Mets keep sucking, would a trade for Devin Williams occur. We wanted him, he's sucked horribly, they'd probably be happy to move him in a couple months. IDK maybe far-fetched but it crossed my mind.

I was trying to remember how to sort them by greatest individual seasons but couldnt do it. It feels like hes on pace for the greatest defensive season for a CF in this century, possible ever. Kiermaier's best season was 20.6. PCA has tripled his next closest competitor.

Great get-off had RT on his heels the entire time. Personally I think Booker is going to feast this year. Maybe a dozen sacks if he can stay healthy. We need Jarrett to rediscover some of his previous form. The DL could surprise. The defense played markedly better when the secondary got healthy. Hopefully we can avoid major, long-term injuries this time around. -
PCA, with his 84 wRC+ and 0 bsr, is still on pace for about 5 fwar. Freak.

Man it would be awesome if Pete found his power again. Over the last 2 weeks his OBP is 390. His approach is improving. He just needs to start barreling balls again.

Jed and co need to get it the horsefeathers together with their development so we dont need to rely on Astros scraps and crafty veterans every single year in the pen. Maton and Webb have been abominable. Not fooling anyone. Several missteps led to this loss. The challenges were idiotic and short-sighted and cost us dearly. Craig managed with the urgency of a vegetable - Brown should have started the 5th and Busch should never face Morejon IMO. That was a pivotal moment and Craig should have seen that coming. Mo is a stud and might be a decent catcher but he was abysmal catching stealers in AAA and Ty France (really the bane of the Padres tonight) still has a finger left as he counts his career steals on his hand. With Kelly behind the dish that simply doesn't happen, and I bet he would have fared better against Morejon than Busch did. Not that a 2 game losing streak is gushing but we had a chance to stop the bleeding and we flat blew it. Really a badly mismanaged game by a lot of members of the team.

Not saying we had the game in the bag but man am I mad at Counsell. Just a completely unforced error. I dont care about the health of the remaining pitchers. We had a lead and Boyd largely sucked tonight as he has this season. He should not have come back out for the 5th.
