  1. Wonder if they buy out his option for a 2-3 year deal.
  2. Damn now that staff is looking quite formidable. Push Cabrera to the pen when he returns.
  3. The deal makes sense to me. The guy is controlled through '30 and is on an absolute heater at the moment. Going to love that backend when Daniel returns!
  4. Yeah this dam has to break. We can't hold onto these guys into the winter.
  5. I have a hard time believing any team is offering a better package than Rojas, Mo, and Alcantara. Feels like we can shed some ancillary pieces for something very good.
  6. But the rotation is largely not exciting and he's another guy that rarely cracks 92.
  7. It horsefeathers sucks, I can't sugarcoat it. He will be way behind in learning and playing within the system and probably take a couple weeks to get the conditioning. Might get half of an effective season from him. What a bummer.
  8. Just wish he had some more velo. Seems that will be our eternal Achilles heel
  9. Wow. I know Beck is 26 and has his share of skeptics but Garrett has barely pitched since 2024.
  10. Feather in the NSBB cap but a pretty blah acquisition at the moment
  11. I would totally pitch Cabrera out of the pen. There's easily 4 better starters and you can argue Assad is on his level. His stuff out of the pen - just throwing sinkers, changes, and sliders- would be nasty.
  12. I wouldn't be surprised if Escobar is a hot name right now.
  13. You have to challenge any call that could result in a run.
  14. Rome has MRI vision That sounds like a CL tear of some sort, if hes that emotional
  15. They have so many superfluous pieces that many teams should covet. I expect at minimum 2 more deals, probably 3 or 4.
  16. This guy is kind of strange. I wonder why he scrapped the changeup after 2022, where it scored 106 on stuff+, a career high. 2023 was still an excellent year, despite all of his stuff+ marks noticeably declining, particularly the split. Then in 2024 he started throwing a sinker and the next year that pitch became elite, only for him to stop throwing it. I am confident the Cubs will want that sinker back and probably want a lot of changeups too. This is a dude with a diverse mix who can't seem to settle on a consistent repertoire - not unusual, but the fashion in which he tends to move away from highly graded pitches is pretty odd.
