  1. Man that 1-3 should set the tone tonight but then again I thought our lefty killers would punish Blach
  2. Tell ya what: what Bud Black is doing in Colorado is very impressive
  3. Like him a lot. He looks to be a very useful player, being able to play all 3 OF positions. He shows really good command of the strikezone and he has at least average power. There's plenty of potential there.
  4. Zack Short has drawn 36 walks while the next closest competitor in his league has drawn 31. This guy's out-of-nowhere success reminds me a little of Tim Saunders. I'm sure that's a name that hasn't floated around here in a while. He exploded on the scene and hit 380 in his first pro season, blowing through R, skipping A-, and reaching Class-A advanced ball. He was way less disciplined than Short at the plate but his bat seemed to have plenty of potential. Unfortunately he had a hip injury and then tore his UCL and was never able to get back on track. But that first year, despite all the Ks, was pretty damn great.
  5. I took an elbow battling down low in a pickup basketball game last week in that area that Puig just got hit in... still hurts a little to breathe today. Coughing really sucks.
  6. Lynn's only through 8. St Louis is on the road. Duh my bad Any way, that sucked.
  7. Lynn just finished his 9 innings and Kershaw is going out to finish the shutout of the Cards. Impressive pitchers duel. Only a Grandal solo HR on the board.
  8. Would Shark interest anybody if he became available?
  9. Frankoff's HR rate is a little high but otherwise he has been pretty darn good.
  10. Cubs have hit 5 HR in their last 6 innings. I'll take that.
  11. don't use raped like that Using it as was originally intended... but fine. Not worth arguing over. My apologies if you were offended. I edited it.
  12. Should refund all the players they robbed for having a little fun
  13. Hudson sounds a bit like Montgomery as a best case scenario. His curve gets a ton of weak grounders and will be his saving grace IMO. He needs to polish his change, I feel like a change with nasty fade from that release point would be devasating. On the note of HR suppression: I was so encouraged going into this season by Preston Morrison and his 3 HR allowed in 150 pro innings. So far in 37 he's allowed 5 this season and his strikezone dominance has also vanished. He was one of my guys going into the season.
  14. Duke, I was wondering if you could pin down what's changed either in Rizzo's approach vs LHP or in how LHP have attacked him these past couple seasons. Between 14 and 15 he basically posted a 400 wOBA against LHP. Last year that dropped to 360, and of course the sample is miniscule this season, but he's down to 300, hitting 175 against them.
