  1. It's great that the new format screwed the hometown guys Not that there's any Marlins fans to care
  2. Need a pitcher change This moron just erased any bit of drama that remained
  3. How do you feel about Zobrist? I dunno, if he doesn't start getting hot by the end of the month then I'm going to be a bit pessimistic he's going to regain 2016 form. His plate discipline and ability to switch hit help, but he wouldn't be a guy you have to find a place for every day if he's not the best option. That's how I feel as well. Either that wrist injury sapped a ton of his strength or he is feeling the effect of multiple deep postseason runs (or both) but he's just looked beat this year. He needs to have a big second half and get closer to that 380 OBP guy again.
  4. Holy horsefeathers Bour is going crazy
  5. It felt to me like they didn't count one but I am too lazy to rewind I think it's a dumb rule anyway
  6. That was an incredible round That 470 foot laser Stanton hit was unreal. I want to know the apex.
  7. Jake Arrieta has been a shell of his former self but still has a top 40 ERA among SP this year. This season is insane.
  8. Astros position players can mash but man they have god awful defense and BsR
  9. I feel like they did make a mistake not making an offer to Jansen just to at least see if he would have been interested. I don't see him having major durability concerns because he throws nothing but cutters and he's a freaking house. Could be wrong but he feels like a great 5 year investment.
  10. I was 100% against this, now I'm not so sure.....5 and a half back, at Baltimore for 3, at Atlanta for 3, and 3 at home versus the Cards, coming out of the break. With the Brewers having 3 at home versus Philly, 4 at Pitt, and 3 at Philly...... It gets tougher for them after that, but still..... I want Davis here next year, but I'm kind of open to pulling what the Yankees did last year with Chapman.... They look miserable right now with no turnaround in sight. The Brewers could extend their lead quick after the break given they play the Phillies a ton. I mean if we are 8-10 games back at the deadline I hope they blow the pen up. Selling quality relievers at the deadline usually brings back much bigger returns than most would expect. What a great time to load up on young, live arms. I would shop him, Koji, Dunce, and probably Strop as well. Then re-load the pen in the offseason behind Carl, Grimm, Rondon, Carasiti (looks like a Strop type with his slider and the ground balls he generates), Monty, and a couple FA additions. Maybe not so extreme... but definitely think we should be shopping our expiring guys who are having really good seasons.
  11. Eloy with another swinging K USA pitching has shut this lineup down completely
  12. World domination by the US of A
  13. Eloy looked helpless against Honeywell's change-up
  14. Not sure where to talk about the Futures game but man Honeywell just dropped a gorgeous screwball on Rosario
  15. Everyone in the stadium should just get up and leave Especially the Flubs
  16. Cubs have dropped nearly 4% off their line drive rate. When you constantly try to launch the ball no matter the pitch location and pretty much refuse to go with the pitch (3rd from last in oppo%) then you get a lot of rollovers, as I said. Just because they don't get the desired result of getting the ball in the air, doesn't mean they're not constantly trying.
  17. The team needs to revamp their offensive approach. The walk rate is fun and we can all have a laugh when the pitcher doesn't make it through 5 because he's thrown 100 pitches already, but these guys can't hit. We are 90 games in, i think its safe to say unless this offense does a 180 and gets back to simple, fundamental hitting, they're gonna struggle hard to score runs and compensate for the inadequate pitching. I don't understand what happened over the winter but these guys have said horsefeathers hard, line drive contact, and seem to want to put everything in the air, and of course to the pull side. They don't hit the ball consistently hard enough to get away with it. They force this approach on almost every swing and get tons of rollovers and pop flies. You guys can kill me all you want but Manske's gotta go. They obviously are not getting through to the team. We just keep banging our heads against the wall wondering why the hits aren't falling. It's pretty clear to me why. I get that firing the hitting coach(es) does not always produce the immediate turnaround you seek, but I think the guys need some new voices and somebody who can help break these horrible habits that are forming. And if nothing else, it can't hurt - because they horsefeathering suck. They do not prepare their hitters to the fullest. And if Joe is still using his 'less is more' approach in terms of limiting the information they're fed, and limiting batting practice and all that junk - then he deserves a good share of the blame as well. There's no excuse, with all the information that is available today to every single player, for them to be so woefully overmatched time and time again.
  18. Unless you live within 5 miles of the coast, LA summers and falls are actually garbage. Yeah its about 20 degrees hotter here
  19. Just played softball in 110 degree heat. It is horsefeathering awful in L.A. this weekend.
