What I should have specified is that he wasnt eligible for one from Cleveland. "The 2024 Exception: Prior to signing with the Chicago Cubs, Boyd did not join the Cleveland Guardians until June 2024. Because he was not on their roster for the full season, MLB rules automatically categorized him as ineligible for a QO during that offseason.' But I think he is eligible this year because he has never received one and he was on the team-in-question for the entire year prior.

Looks like he's fully embraced the pull-heavy mentality; probably just not yet strong enough to really tap into the requisite power. He has a very high IFFB rate as well. I'm looking forward to next year, I think the power will break out even more. Love me some Kepley. I feel like if hes an above average hitter you are looking at a 3-4 win player.

Agreed but the Cubs should absolutely negotiate and try to get him on a 2-3 year deal IMO. He's just too good of a match with a long track record of keeping that specific skill set in elite status. He's probably a 25 AAV guy?

Feels like our bench next year will be Triantos Alcantara Ayers Those guys basically cover all but 1B. I wonder if Alcantara is being kept to be Pete insurance. It definitely feels like the club still believes he will be an asset. I think Ramirez is your starting LF next year and they re-sign Seiya right before FA kicks off.

So we added an elite 4-seam with him and an elite 2-seam with Holmes. Plus added a guy who posted a sub-3 ERA in last year's playoffs. Hot damn! -
