  1. Had em on the ropes. That was not a good AB by Seiya, too antsy and expanded the zone. Should have gotten another run there for sure.
  2. He really stabilized the game for Iowa and then Borucki goes and gives up a 3 run HR immediately lol
  3. Iowa roaring back. Slaughter coming around. 2 doubles yesterday and just hit his first dong.
  4. How big is the gap between Bijan and Brown? Brown's athletic profile is really horsefeathering good, so was his rushing production, but he didn't catch many balls. However, how much of that was a function of the offense? IIRC he looked smooth in the catching drills.
  5. I hope we take Brown or Gibbs later if we want a RB. Saying it again, getting rid of Mustipher was horsefeathering huge, Dude got physically dominated constantly and also whiffed on way too many assignments altogether. Adding Davis on the line, and potentially adding a starting T and a C that can push Patrick - I think we see that pressure rate drop significantly. Fields should have a squad that leaves no room for excuses for production.
  6. He ran a 4.5 at his pro day and we see a lot of comps to Kupp and St. Brown and those guys were 4.6. JSN's 3-cone beat them both as well. I really want that security blanket to draw heavy coverage in the short-intermediate so that Moore and Mooney can take the top off. Kmet would feast as well with JSN getting so much attention.
  7. Morel just went deep off of one of the most unhittable pitchers in the minors, Andrew Abbott. Kid has 43 Ks in 20 IP. That's the first HR hes allowed.
  8. This is the team that wrung 30 dwar out of Omar Narvaez in his 2.5 year stint with them. Skepticism is wise here but there is recent precedent of those early shaky catcher metrics actually holding up when the sample becomes meaningful.
  9. Getting horsefeathering Mustipher out of there probably reduces his sacks by a quarter at least lol
  10. Those are the only acceptable picks for you at 9? I want them to trade down, but if they don't, I would be cool with a few other players if they make it to 9 - JSN, Witherspoon, maybe even Nolan Smith.
  11. I am seriously annoyed that the Brewers have yet again turned chicken horsefeathers to chicken salad with a catcher. The heist of William Contreras really sticks in my craw, Seeing him and his brother as the best defensive catchers in the game so far - like, horsefeathers off.
  12. I really didn't think the whole hey let's turn Steele into a modern version of Lester was going to go so well. He still has bouts of wildness that make me nervous the house is about to collapse but he is just so good at missing barrels and manages to wiggle out of those jams.
  13. And the Dodgers likely haven't fixed Jason Heyward. He is 3-33 since he last hit a HR with an 11 wRC+.
  14. Roquan trying to be Lamar's agent now? Sent from my motorola one 5G UW using Tapatalk
  15. I'll be annoyed if they don't have Slaughter in Iowa. He's 26 and had almost 400 PA at AA last year. We need to see if he can carry that over to the higher level. Sent from my motorola one 5G UW using Tapatalk
  16. FA to be Rhys Hoskins may have blown out his knee today on a play behind 1B. Sent from my motorola one 5G UW using Tapatalk
  17. Well Sammy, I didn't even have to click the link to know who is injured lol Sent from my motorola one 5G UW using Tapatalk
  18. I wonder if we will start to see more pitchers adopt splitters in the MLB. It's been a pitch that organizations have largely 86'd because of the injury risk but it is so effective. It basically turned Gausman into an ace. USA hitters turned to jelly against it last night. The Pitchers are already implored to throw the hardest sliders they can. Why not? 19. Man that was a bad AB by Trout Sent from my motorola one 5G UW using Tapatalk
  20. Im still of the opinion that neither Gordon, Brisker, or Velus needed to be taken when they were and I would have traded those 2 2nd round picks for sure, so I'm with you on sharing that frustration and angst. But he's filled in the floor decently well this time around and set himself up to where I don't see any way he doesn't hammer the lines hard in the first few rounds. Eberflus obviously has a decent amount of influence and I think he played a major part in those first 2 selections. Poles acquiesced possibly not wanting to make waves in a partnership that was just forged. IDK. FWIW, Fields is the reason for the worst sack rate in history. I think it's fair to state that. It would have been BAD but he made it historically bad, not the line, even accounting for the malpractice of making Mustipher the starting C. But Poles absolutely could have done more to improve that OL. However would we have the draft capital we have now... Likely hell no. So it is what it is and hopefully we will benefit from the negligence. Sent from my motorola one 5G UW using Tapatalk I think Poles and his scouts built a board and religiously stuck to it. Those picks were the top guys on their board when their turn came up. Poles seems so committed to a good process that I don't think he would veer off course with the first few picks in his career. It should also be said that their board was edited based on what Flus/Getsy likes in various positions based on the intended scheme. Additionally, Poles selected very athletic players (the OL specifically were all high RAS guys) in the draft and that has continued into this free agnecy. His FA selections were all 28 or under, most were 27 and under, prioritizing young players. Not sure what you mean about trading the 2nd rounders in the last draft? You mean trade back a few picks and still get the same guy along with a later round pick? At the time I remember thinking that he should trade back in the second if he could get another 3rd. Maybe trade back and get a fourth with the other. He ended up trading back three times and picking up a few picks, but all were late rounders. One of the fifth rounders was Braxton so that's a vote for the volume concept of drafting. I can't predict who would have been available so I wasn't suggesting he could have traded those picks and still got Gordon and Brisker; rather that I would have traded back and taken BPA. I just felt that we could have stacked more capital and the roster was so bare that there was no need to prioritize any specific positions. Sent from my motorola one 5G UW using Tapatalk
  21. Oh, I absolutely agree on both counts. Lowder is very Wicks-esque to me, but from the right side. And Nimmala is the guy I am setting myself up for disappointment with. I do it every year. Wicks is a pretty good comp there although Lowder has at least been bumping 97s early in starts. He sat at a 93 mph average last season with his four-seam and that's a good tick or so better than Wicks in 2021. Lowder might be more consistently 94s when all is said and done. But yeah I want more upside and right now I'd prefer one of the HS shortstops (Nimmala likely out of range, but Colin Houck - man the reports are strong - Colt Emerson, Walker Martin, and Roch Cholowsky all could be 1st round plays) or Blake Mitchell. I lean prep with this class with where the Cubs are picking unless someone surprising falls. Tanner Witt is a wild card right now. He could be throwing for teams by June or early July and middle of the first round bonus money is when teams have historically taken chances on TJS guys. He has frontline potential. What were your thoughts on Paciolla last year? Sent from my motorola one 5G UW using Tapatalk
  22. I'd be more comfortable with this argument if I hadn't said it at this time last year, and then we went DB-DB-KR with our top picks and the cap casualties sucked (as they tend to do) and then Fields had his second year derailed by the worst sack rate in history. Im still of the opinion that neither Gordon, Brisker, or Velus needed to be taken when they were and I would have traded those 2 2nd round picks for sure, so I'm with you on sharing that frustration and angst. 23. He's slow playing the lines and right now they are mediocre piecemeal but we still have the draft and cap casualties to come. I think it's prudent to wait until TC starts to really evaluate what we have. Sent from my motorola one 5G UW using Tapatalk
  24. At least Pace saved the best for last... Hopefully? Sent from my motorola one 5G UW using Tapatalk
