  1. Damn. Well, I'm hoping for the best in your fight. One my friends had cancer at a really young age and I would go with him to keep him company during his chemo sessions. Not sure about Rizzo hitting 6 dongs or Lester throwing a perfect game, but the Cubs better win that game for you.
  2. So basically the same deal that Lance Lynn got from the Twins. The Brewers had to know that offer was never going to work.
  3. I think everyone has seen this one before. I couldn't find it in this thread. Hope he does this one day with the Mariners.
  4. That one-handed bat flip is majestic. =D>
  5. I'm totally lost by your reaponse lol. I don't know what this means... I'm shocked. I am lost and confused by many of the references and jokes you guys make. It's hard to follow sometimes lol. I corrected myself. I get the Jordan comeback joke now.
  6. [nfo][/nfo] The switch to baseball is going to be a big jump. Let's see if he does better than Jordan did. I'm totally lost by your reaponse lol. I don't know what this means... Edit: Nevermind. Haha, I see it now. I wrote Phillies instead of the 76ers.
  7. Zach Britton is the DL with a pretty serious injury. I doubt he comes back by June. He should pitch before the trade deadline, but June seems too optimistic to me.
  8. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/22923343/markelle-fultz-philadelphia-76ers-scores-10-return-68-game-absence So #1 pick Markelle Fultz finally made his return for the Phillies. Not sure what his shot looks like now. In the video clip in the link it looked fine. Hopefully, he can return to being the same dynamic player he was in college. EDIT: Sorry, meant to put this in the general NBA thread.
  9. Wow, that curveball looks a lot better in that clip. Definitely tighter like you said. I bet he could get a lot of strike three calls with that pitch. The curveball revolution really is coming...
  10. I hope the Bulls can lose as many games as possible to close out the season... The most frustrating thing looking at the standings is Brooklyn. Every other shitty team is trying to tank and play poorly on purpose. Brooklyn doesn't even own their draft pick and isn't tanking; they just suck. That Paul Pierce/KG trade has to go down as one of the most lopsided trades in NBA history.
  11. He's using a new grip this year. Really? Curious to see what it looks like now... I know Contreras is trying to get him to throw it more often and have full confidence in his repertoire.
  12. [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] Another good hitting prospect in the draft that most definitely won't fall all the way to the Cubs. I really wish they allowed teams to trade up/trade down in the draft.
  13. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has “injuries” like this all year because they know he’s done and don’t want him embarrassed. Also if their bullpen/closer sucks I could see him trying to come back/be shifted to the closer role. I could see the redbirds shifting Alex Reyes to the closer role down the stretch. Not sure about making Wainwright the closer. He doesn't have good enough stuff for that role. I am secretly hoping injuries will destroy their SR depth and allow for a reunion with John Lackey lol.
  14. That's fine. I'm just saying that until he fixes his swing mechanics he'll never be that productive (on offense) ever again. That's why the Cubs tried to fix his swing last offseason, and Chili Davis has been working with him this spring. I don't know if the problem is mental, swing mechanics or timing issues. Maybe it's a combination of all those things. I don't have an issue discussing the problem however. I’m sure you don’t and that’s fine. What I’m saying is that it’s gotten to the point where it feels like arguing with my ex and at some point you just have to ignore it because the horse has been beaten to death already so let the poor thing RIP. Fair enough. I get it.

  16. Yeah, that surprised me too. I thought Gimenez locked up the backup C spot. Caratini is the better hitter and more versatile.
  17. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/22884777/kyrie-irving-boston-celtics-undergo-procedure-ailing-knee Not looking good for the Celtics. Kyrie is going to get a procedure done on his left knee. No timetable for his return. They're describing it as "minimally invasive" but that's still concerning for them. I wonder how far the Raptors could go if injuries decimate Boston, and the Cavs keep playing shitty defense.
  18. Hey, maybe you can actually start judging a swing now! Honestly, I'm no swing doctor or expert either. I talked to one person who used to be a scout, and he thinks it's partly mental and that Heyward is thinking too much. Not just letting instinct take over. Hitting has to come naturally, and you have to be relaxed at the plate. He doesn't think Heyward is comfortable in the batter's box. He thinks Heyward (with the Cubs) is aware of his struggles and thinks about his swing rather than just letting it come naturally. In the OF, his defensive instincts are off the charts and he just reacts.
  19. You're not wrong. I've noticed the same thing. Sometimes they're not little tweaks either. His swing in 2016 was BY FAR the worst version...
  20. Also he's more closed-off in his stance while with the Braves in the top clip. He has more of an open stance in the clip with the Cubs. Not sure why it's so different or when that changed. He definitely doesn't use his hips and lower-half like he did while with the Braves.
  21. No, it's not. The one with the Cubs is worse. He utilizes his wrists more and his feet aren't sliding or moving in the clip with the Braves. It's a better swing in the top video. He does occasionally look okay in his swings with the Cubs btw. It's not always terrible. When he isn't locking up his arms and keeps it bent and attacks the ball it looks fine actually. Like this: http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Chicago+Cubs+v+Atlanta+Braves+OpNKS4AHlaol.jpg Not like this:
  22. [bbvideo=853,480] [/bbvideo] Dude that didn't even take me that long to find lol. This swing looks very different from his current swing. You're welcome  . So dumb...
  23. LMAO. That was fantastic. I can't tell if Tommy is joking or being serious. Good sport either way. I thought the video was originally going to be about losing his BFF Jake, and how lonely he is now. That was great.
  24. I think timing is a part of it, but the swing itself is also bad. Doesn't use his lower half properly. The swing plane looks off. Doesn't use his wrists/hands enough to adjust the bat through the zone. Some posters here are claiming it's always been garbage, but that's not true. It actually looked good at times when he was in Atlanta. His swing has changed a lot over time. I think it even looked okay when he was with the Cardinals, but I only remember the NLDS series now.
  25. So you're a faux Tseng fan that uses his image for your avatar pic? Okay sure...
