  1. So the Kings won and the Bulls finished the season tied with them in the standings. From an article in The Athletic: So both the Kings and the Bulls will have about a ~5% chance at the #1 pick. Not great obviously, but the Bulls have had some lottery luck before...
  2. So the Bulls lost and the Kings are winning. The Rockets are sitting all their starters so the Kings should take this game. IF the Kings go on to win this game the Bulls will tie them in the standings. Remember if the Kings win this game...
  3. [tweet] [/tweet] Damn, Baez is so much fun when he's hitting dongs.
  4. That last pitch was a ball. It was inside. Willy was right to be upset.
  5. Manny Margot took one square in the ribs last night and Renfroe took one off the wrist the inning before Got it. Baseball is so dumb with these retaliatory things. It makes no sense to keep throwing at guys because someone is going to end up hurt or suspended on your own team. Yeah, I agree. Trying to find justice by hitting the opposing team seems like it will just lead to more escalation. They need to make the suspensions WAY longer for pitchers in instances where it's clear and deliberate that they were intentionally trying to hit the batter.
  6. [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] A one game suspension for doing that? Are you serious? He didn't get ejected from the game and now he's only getting a one game suspension. This is [expletive]...

  8. I agree that Kelenic is good, but not #1 overall good/great. So I know you'll eventually tell us when we get closer to the draft, but do you have scouting reports available for the top tier of HS arms in this draft? What have you heard and how would you order them right now? That top tier for me is Hankins, Rocker, Liberatore, Stewart, Denaburg and Winn. I have no idea how to rank them right now... I would be happy if any of them fell to the Cubs.
  9. According to twitter there has been a notable number of Cubs fans that are showing up in full Cubs gear, presumably they were planning on going to Wrigley today but detoured south when it was cancelled.
  10. I was surprised when I read that rumor. There is no KB or Harper type talent in this draft, but that still feels like a big reach to me. I would feel uncomfortable taking a pitcher with the #1 pick too, but pitching is the strength of this draft class. I think if I were the Tigers and I wanted to save money and minimize risk with the #1 overall pick I'd just select Madrigal or Bohm.
  11. He damn well better or he will have been screwed over. Cubs fans don't appreciate him nearly enough. It's hard to appreciate him when we have a team full of young stars. We'll appreciate him more when Bryce says a big reason he wanted to join the Cubs was to play next to his BFF this coming offseason. PS -- I think Kyle Hendricks is the most underappreciated Cubs player.
  12. [tweet] [/tweet] It's still too early to make a judgement about his bat, but this article from Passan looks pretty bad lol.
  13. [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] https://www.sbnation.com/2018/4/7/17209004/76ers-vs-cavaliers-recap-highlights-game-of-the-year-lebron-james-vs-ben-simmons This is why I think Philly will be the best team in the East in a few years. Ben Simmons is simply amazing. He develops a consistent jump shot and he's Lebron 2.0.
  14. Hmm, you think I would get kicked out of the UC for wearing one of these shirts lol? I'm definitely ordering one of these pretty soon...
  15. [tweet] [/tweet] Check out this stupid ejection. They really need to do something about this dumb horsefeathers. Are umpires ever held accountable for doing this?
  16. That would've been awesome if he lost the ball and it hit him right in the face. I hate Braun so damn much...
  17. I think we've always known umpires were shitty... I've met older baseball fans that told me stories about petty umpires who held grudges against certain pitchers and players. I remember when I was little my older brother and his friends would tell me stories about how Maddux and Glavine would take advantage of umpires and kept getting strike calls on pitches clearly off the plate. That's my biggest complaint with baseball -- the lack of an automated strike zone. horsefeathers all this noise about speeding up the game and those stupid ideas to end the game earlier if it goes into extra innings.
  18. The addition of the strike zone to broadcasts made us all realize how bad umpires really are. I found myself a lot more critical of umpires lately and that has to play a big part of it. I don't know about that. The HD broadcast and better camera angles helped a lot and made it easier to conceptualize the strike zone. The addition of a strike zone graphic helped, but I can determine whether a pitch was a strike or a ball without it the majority of the time.
  19. That sucks. So it looks like Caratini will take over at 1B. Yeah, he needs some playing time.
  20. I think this just proves how crappy the first round was in 2013 and how lucky we got drafting KB. There is a crazy gap between Kris Bryant at #2 and Aaron Judge at #32. Teams really did a poor job scouting and evaluating that draft class. I thought Austin Meadows would develop into a star player and maybe he still will. Has great tools but is never fully healthy.
  21. I'm really glad we signed Cishek. He's been awesome so far.
  22. Geez is Carl skinny out there. Will this guy ever put on some more weight? If he took steroids he would just look like a normal MLB pitcher afterwards lol.
  23. Travis Swaggerty seems to have hit a wall recently. Has he seen Bohm play in the field? I just don't see any way he stays there. I love that bat though. Still could be a top 5 pick based on just the bat. I've seen him play in the field on video. He seems fine to me. KB was a much better athlete and had a much stronger arm. I felt way more confident about Bryant's ability to stay at 3B. His first step isn't great and he might have trouble on slow rollers. I thought Alex Gordon could stick at 3B, but I never watched him play in college. I could be wrong, but I believe most scouts think Bohm can play 3B at the pro level. You'll live with his defense at 3B if Bohm's bat is as special as scouts say it is. He has good makeup too.
