  1. Javy with an RBI double, comes around on a single by Bour.
  2. As long as he maintains his 1.0 HR/K ratio, I'm cool with it.
  3. This is not a specific response to any one poster, but I think it is germane to the discussion in this thread: Which of the free agents listed below would posters like to see the Cubs target this offseason? Apologies if this is being discussed elsewhere.
  4. The intentional variety.
  5. Rizzo doing his Javy Baez impersonation tonight.
  6. THey used to do this in Peoria, as well (when the Chiefs were the Cubs affiliate, of course). I imagine they do it throughout the system; David's remark may be much less facetious than it seems.

    Castro

    July is officially in the books (121 PA): .292/.339/.442, 7.3 BB%, 19 K% Starlin's previous 3 seasons (1912 PA): .297/.336/.425, 5.2 BB%, 14 K%
  8. Whoever voted to unban davearm needs to explain themselves.

    Rizzo

If he maintains his current rates, Rizzo would end the season with about 22 HR, 46 doubles, and 76 BB. Those aren't eye popping numbers, but I think they're acceptable for a 23 YO playing his first full season in MLB.
  10. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that Javy will better acclimate to this level of pitching and his K% will stabilize in the 20's. I realize he's a few games worth of PA over the statistical stabilization threshold for K rate; I guess I'm willing to cut him a little slack as it seems clear he is actively refining his plate approach (age level, etc.).
  11. Baez with 2 BB (and 2 K). Just waiting on that third true outcome...
  12. I don't know why, but I actually laughed at this. yep.
  13. Don't know about top ten, but he'll always be a Cub to me. The term gets overused, but he's been a class act throughout.
  14. Also, begging the question doesn't mean what you think it means.
  15. To the extent that this first inning is any indication, Nauert appears to have a tight zone tonight.
  16. It'll be weird not having Sori around. Hope we get someone useful for him.
  17. To be fair, he hit a breaking ball about 400 feet for a HR in the 9th yesterday. And his double in the first was on an offspeed pitch, as well.
  18. Jesus Christ, Junior. (And as I type it, I realize I'm not sure if I intend the above as an exclamation or a nickname.)
  19. Gameday had those FB to Goldschmidt at 98 mph.
  20. With that LD double, Lake's batting average on balls in the air remains 1.000.
  21. I can live with the Ks from a 20 year old in AA who's homering about once every 10-11 AB.
  22. How huge did Ryan Braun, the supposed topic of this thread, ever get?
  23. Greatest athlete in Tecmo Bowl wasn't an option.
  24. So about 16 WAR in a full season? Cool.
