  1. Hey, it's not his fault; sometimes kids just get the measles. I don't see what Jay could have possibly done to avoid that.
  2. Fun with some of the Cubs numbers: Player JAVIER VORP Bryant 123.3 Russell 54.5 Baez 50.9 Soler 50.2 Alcantara 36.3 Schwarber 33.9 McKinney 32.2 Castro 28.3 Rizzo 21.9
  3. I would guess so (especially with really old buildings).
  4. I feel like a lot of you humps are letting a bunch of weird hangups like "sleeping" and "not being a crazy [expletive]" prevent you from properly enjoying the cardinals elimination from the playoffs. Call David a robot of you like, but Gort is stepping up.
  5. I know cards fans who turned on Buck when he claimed--during the 2010 WS broadcast--that the last time the Giants won the WS (1954), there were no MLB teams west of the Mississippi. It's like they had never heard Joe Buck say something [expletive] stupid before.
  6. I would have rather seen Jeter hit walk off HRs in 4 straight WS games than watch the cardinals go to another series.
  7. You can keep your bat flips, Travis Ishikawa spiking his batting helmet like a [expletive] football as he rounded third base was the [expletive] best. Eat it forever, st. louis.

  9. It's what smart managers do to win ballgames.
  10. I imagine they wish to create the impression that the proposed changes will differ minimally from the present feel of Wrigley. They probably want to avoid making the renderings look overly splashy or modern.
  11. I'd love to believe that these items are related.
  12. No worries; quality control specialist Rick Sutcliffe appears to be overseeing the operation.
  13. Anyone else think of ? That would be fine with me, the Silver Hawks' logo is an abomination.
  14. When I am eating a Qdoba burrito, I often feel like I should just puncture it with a straw and imbibe the contents like a minute-maid orange juice commercial. Magnificent sloppiness.
  15. ALSO HIS BB RATE Yeah, it is worth noting that Bryant posted a higher OBP than Rizzo despite giving up almost 50 points in avg.
  16. Fitting end to a fantastic MILB season for the organization. Thanks to Raisin, et al. for putting together these threads. Great stuff.
  17. He's missing the whole series, apparently. Link
  18. Cubs need to invest in a Spine-O-Cylinder.
  19. Unless I'm misreading, they aren't saying they can't do it. They (the National Park Service) are just saying that they might not give the Cubs a $75 million federal tax credit to help them do it.
  20. I really wanna know who those 4 sad sacks are.
  21. Snappy D. Turtle can be amusing at times.

  23. No [expletive] [expletive]. I find it really unnerving that many of the same meatball, anti-saber types who relish pointing out that "the game is played by men, not robots", will immediately recant when players behave like men, and not robots. Then those players are weak, undisciplined and worthy of contempt. Lost in all this spurious Castro condemnation is the fact that Soler hit a HR with his first swing in MLB tonight. Baez drove in 2 with a double, K'd only once and damn near took Chapman deep in the 9th. The Cubs fell from 13 below .500 to 14 below? Who [expletive] cares? Tonight was a good night. Frustrating at times, sure, but a good night.
  24. Positional prospects FTW.
