  1. SORIANO IS MOST VALUABLE WHERE HE HITS THE BEST I find it amazing that you jokers continue to spoew this garbage about how "Soriano is more valuable lower in the order" yet you continue to ignore that fact that all the evidence shows otherwise. BECAUSE BELTRAN HAS SHOWN HE CAN PERFORM WHILE BATTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LINEUP Seriously, do you realize how stupid you sound? This is getting ridiculous. Stop comparing Beltran to Soriano just because they both hit home runs.

  3. Dude, stop and listen to me for a second. We know that Roberts is a better fit in the leadoff spot than Soriano. That's not the problem. THE PROBLEM IS SORIANO'S INABILITY TO PERFORM WHILE BATTING OUTSIDE OF THE LEADOFF SPOT. That has been pointed out to you over and over again, yet you continue to talk about Brian Roberts. It has nothing to do with Brian Roberts, it has to do with getting the best play out of Soriano. Just stop it, please. You're on over your head.
  4. TY Bruce! Any updates on what Jim's up to? Just what you've read this week: Seeing if they can get something done (or started) with Baltimore and looking for a little insurance in center field. Bruce, I remember a week or 2 ago you said that the odds of a Roberts trade getting done were "50-50 at best". It certainly sounds like the chances of anything happening with Baltimore has decreased quite a bit. Does it seem at all likely that something could get done?
  5. He has an obp of .347 in 2006. That's not "recent"? Anyways, that's not the point. I don't care about Roberts when deiciding where to put Soriano. I also don't care about his declining speed. That's just another overemphasized point for you to argue. The most important thing is his bat, and where it performs the best. Just stop with this nonsense. You're not going to convince anybody that any of these garbage leadoff theories are more important than hitting.

Also, you still haven't explained to me why those characteristics of Roberts that you love so much can't also be utilied in the 2 hole.
  7. Oh and by the way, Roberts' career obp is only 10 points higher than Soriano's career OBP while batting leadoff.
  8. Oh god. Why do you always resort to "well, these guys said so" when trying to defend your statements? Oh, because you can't back up your claims on your own, that's why. Why don't you think for yourself instead of copping out? I could name drop plenty of guys that agree with me too, but I won't. You know why? Because I can think for myself. Anyways, most of those guys you named aren't exactly the most reputable baseball people. Using guys like Mike Murphy, Jim Sullivan, and Jim Hendry to help validate your argument? Yikes. That honestly hurts your argument. Seriously. So why can't Roberts just bat 2nd, where his speed and OBP will be utilized just as well? Oh, because "he's a leadoff hitter", that's why. We can't possibly bat him anywhere other than leadoff, for that would be blashpemy! The world would end! No, he's most valuable where he performs the best. I'm not under the impression that a cheap 100 rbi's is worth having him go .260/.315/.490 with an enormous amout on LOB. Not at all. What's funny is that if he's moved down, you'll be one of the people complaining about him when June rolls around and he's not performing, even though he'll have those RBI's you're so desperately seeking.
  9. And as we all know, those sources are never wrong, right? It didn't? He had the second highest ops of his career last season. I like how you try to pass your speculation off as fact. As someone else already mentioned, I'm pretty sure Roberts would bat second (even though I doubt he'll be playing for the Cubs this season). I love how you state that you don't have time to back up your statements, yet you have time to make post after post. How convenient.
  10. Not trying to defend him, but he is a serial killer. It's just who he is. Keep in mind i only attack people who deserve it.
  11. Wait, so you continously state an opinion, then when someone asks you to back it up, you "don't have time"? Forgive us for not taking you seriously.
  12. We're not "Soriano leadoff lovers", we're "getting the best performance out of an overpaid outfielder making 18 mil a year" lovers.
  13. It's the fact that everything you say has been refuted heavily with logic and reasoning. Soriano is more suited to hitin the middle of the order? If by "better suited" you mean his numbers dropping dramatically and a record number of LOB, then yet, he's "better suited". Everytime I see your name I get ready to read a ridiculous post.
  14. Is that a mohawk or a mullet?
  15. Oh that's easy: Kent Merker and Neifi Perez Wasn't Neifi on "the list". Neifi only tested positive for adderall for adhd.
  16. See, I can quote him too. Anyways, he said "they don't like his contract", not "they can't take on his contract because of payroll issues". Just because they can unload Marquis' salary doesn't mean they suddenly like Crisp's salary more.
  17. Bruce Miles said earlier in this thread that the Cubs aren't really interested In crisp and that they don't see him as an upgrade. I'd very much believe Miles over Levine. A large part of Mr. Miles' point was that the Cubs don't like Crisp's contract. If you can move Marquis in the process, that becomes largely irrelevant. Not really. I believe his exact words were "they judt don't see him as an upgrade".
  18. :D I'm not positive because I can't find the stat, but I think Z had good run support last season.

  20. It's called a prediction. Id like to hear you basis for this prediction, cause the Astros rotation is horrible outside of Oswalt. and decent starters behind him (Backe, Wandy, Williams and Sampson). Decent? That's like having 4 Jason Marquis' after Zambrano.

  22. It's called a prediction. Id like to hear you basis for this prediction, cause the Astros rotation is horrible outside of Oswalt. The Padres offense is horrible outside of maybe Adrian Gonzalez and Khalil Greene. Their offense always is like that that and they sill wtin 80+. Anyways, their offense wouldn't look as bad if they didn't play at Petco.
  23. So I'm pretty sure I'm about to get banned from OH. Some guy proposed a Roberts/Payton/Sherrill trade for Gallagher/Colvin/Murton/Cedeno/Patterspn/Veal trade and I responded by saying it would be a terrible trade for the Cubs. Of course, I immediately feel the wrath of Roberts lovers, having to endure such statements as "Gaha, it's ludicrous to say that that's a bad deal for the Cubs. You'd be getting out all-star second basemen and our closer! You saying that would be a bad deal for the Cubs literally made my jaw fall to the floor!" Seriously, did Roberts cast some kind of spell on these guys or something?
