  1. One more and the tying run will come to the plate.
  2. 2008: late and close: .184 .225 .263 tie: .158 .227 .211 within 1 run: .229 .269 .313 DAMN YOU, FACTS. Those aren't the numbers I asked for, but okay.
  3. He's given up 9 earned runs this year, five of them in two games where he recorded no outs. We won both of those games. He hasn't given up multiple runs in any other game this year. In fact, we've only lost one game this year in which he gave up a run(s), the 5-4 loss to Pittsburgh on May 24. A) I'm talking aout career numbers, not a 2 month sample size B) The numbers you just gave me are not very telling since they don't account for situations like tonight. He didn't give up a run but he clearly was not good.
  4. I'd like to see someone compile a list of Wuertz's performances and what the situations were (winning or losing, by how many, and what inning). I'd be willing to bet there is a noticable difference in performance based on game situation, and not in a good way.
  5. you realize he has a 148 ERA+ coming into tonight, right? I'm aware. I was obviously heavy on te hyperbole. That said, I am not a fan of Wuertz . His numbers are always good but dude is a choke artist.
  6. Wuertz is so bad he hurts the Cubs not only in this game but in future games.
  7. Great, now will is getting pissed and will end up using Marmol.
  8. 86 after the flyout. He's probably done after this.
  9. If he gets any air under that ball at all it's way gone.
  10. I seriously think this park is worse than MMP. I think I'd rather see a cheap home run than see a guy hammer a ball and get nothing.
