I said that he has only been automatic against bad offenses (note that I never said he has been terrible against good offense). Yes, 6.2 innings and 3 runs is good (thought not "automatic"), and 6 innings 2 runs is good (again, not "automatic") but that doesn't tell the whole story. In his start against the Cubs he allowed 11 baserunners. That's "automatic"? In the start against Colorado, he allowed 10 baseunners in 6 innings. That's "automatic"?. The fact is, the only time he's been great against a good offense was in St Louis. The rest of his dominant performances have come against some brutal offensive teams. So yeah, he's automatic....if he's facing a crappy team or if you call 11 baserunners in 6 innings "automatic". Sabathia is great. He's nowhere near automatic. You can keep calling me names if it makes you feel like you're more correct though.

We don't want the Cubs to win the division and play Arizona. We're winning the wild card and will be facing Philly, anyway. Sulley's got me convinced. Well, yeah. They've got Sheets and Sabathia and those are 2 automatic wins every 5 days! well, sabathia is automatic, at least. Except for when he faces a decent offense. he shut out st. louis and had a quality start aginst us and colorado, all decent offenses. I know. So in his 3 starts against decent offenses, he was great, mediocre, and bad. Not exactly "automatic".

Does the level of competition not count? they're winning every game against inferior competition. that's what playoff teams do. i still think that they overtake us, and i don't think that's so crazy to believe. And you still have provided no substance to your claims. Why are they a better team than the Cubs? The Cubs have a better rotation, a better offense, a better bullpen, better defense, and more depth. We're better them in every facet of the game. i can't explain it, on paper, the cubs are the best team in the nl, but how in the hell are they only 3 games up on a team who is obviosuly so much worse? at this point in the season, sometimes numbers don't make the difference. meanwhile sabathia has pitched a million innings in a row and they're winning every single game that they play, regardless of competition. all they can do is beat the team placed in front of them, and they're beating their brains in. Injuries and some luck. The run diffential shows that. Again, I'm not saying the Brewers aren't good. They're the second best team in the league. The Cubs are just better. It's not like you said "well, I think the Brewers still have a great shot at the division" or something like that. You pretty much proclaimed that they were going to win it and the Cubs had no chance. Like they are futile and can't hang with the mighty Brew Crew.

By the way, I keep hearing people mention how tough the Cubs September schedule is because of all the road games. I'm looking at Milwaukee's September and it's not exactly a cakewalk. NYM SD (4) CIN @ PHI (4) @ CHC @ CIN VS PIT VS CHC Quite a big difference between those teams and the teams they've been beating up on recently.

Here are the teams they faced in those 19 games: SF STL (4) HOU ATL (with no Hudson,Chipper,McCann, Teixeira, Jurrjens) CIN WASH SD The only quality opponent they faced in that entire stretch was St. Louis. We're supposed to be scared because they're beating up on the worst teams in baseball? Seriously, judge teams with your mind and not you're emotions. The Cubs have a better team.

Dodgers down 1 with the bases juiced andno outs in the 8th against the Phils. I think it's pretty important that we start rooting for the Dodgers and against the D-Backs.

dude, why is it so hard to believe that the brewers will win the division? it's august and they're going to be 3 games out. it's not like i'm predicting that the pirates are going to win the division. i don't get why that's so unbelievable. Sure, it can happen, but it would definitely be an upset. so, when my prediction comes true, it'll just be a fluke? sheets and sabbathia are like automatic wins right now. that's 2 for sure victories every 5 games. Sheets is an auto win? Before he shut down the hapless Nats he was 1-4 with a 4.50 ERA in his previous 7 starts. Man, that guy is unbeatable! Seriously, stop with the panic stuff.
