  1. When did they say that? Just now? So.... - He missed it because it didn't think he needed it (the score) - He missed it because of a family matter (ESPN) - He missed it because he didn't want the injection (different guy from the score) Number 2 seems most likely...but number 3 seems pretty Zambrano-esque.
  2. From espn.com- http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3566853 Also, Tim Kurkjian was on Mike and Mike just now and he was beng pretty negative. It sounded like he was just speculating, but he said that Zambrano only missing a couple weeks and being ready for the playoffs is "unlikely" and that it doesn't look good.
  3. Did you ever do it?
  4. Because LJ was trash last season even before he got hurt? I haven't really been paying attention...have the Chiefs fixed their O-line at all?
  5. Keep in mind McGahee isn't fully healthy yet so they'll probably limit his carries this week.
  6. I shot that Jesse Rogers dude an e-mail because sometimes those guys respond. We'll see.
  7. If we find out it's just the dead arm and he'll be fine with some rest, it will feel like the 5 game losing streak never happened. Again, I don't care what it is and how much of the regular season he misses. I just want him back and at full strength for the playoffs.
  8. Well, allegiance is a big factor, but you can't just right off the heat. Crowds at baseball games are always partly comprised of casual fans or people that just want to experience something new. When you step outside and you're immediately sweating and miserable, you're not going to want to go outside unless it's for something you absolutely love. I live in Florida and I'll never be used to the heat. It's almost impossible to have fun when it's as hot as it was today. When the Cubs played in Miami a few weeks ago I only ended up going to the Saturday night game. I was planning on going to the Sunday day game but thought better of it when I stepped outside that day. My friends still went and said it was the most miserable they've ever been at a baseball game and didn't even enjoy the win.
  9. What board can I find that post on? Got a link?
  10. We could lose Z for his career and I'd still do the deal.
  11. Becuase we all hope that he will be alright. By the way, there are cubs' fans in Taiwan who have watched the Cubs for 5 years or longer and are still watching and caring about the Cubs, althrough many of them even haven't had a chance to come see a Cubs' game in person. They watch them on MLB.TV. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-080821-chicago-cubs-cincinnati-reds,0,3570223.story?track=rss I'm confused. So those people are just guessing it was a dentist appointment?
  12. I didn't think he loafed on that play tonight. Then why wasn't he at second base?
  13. I can't believe I wasted my time watching this game when Mega Man was just released on the Wii virtual console
  14. I have mlb.tv and am listening to it through that
  15. Kaplan is questioning Z's mental state and what his deal is
  16. Can you watch the post-game stuff online?
  17. The approach against Wold has been absolutely pathetic. He's still painting the outside corner and they're still trying to pull everything.
  18. Well then Wolf will go 9 and there will be no fake rally Did Wolf really pitch the 8th? I turned that trash off
  19. They said they're trying not to use Valverde tonight
  20. Might see the first video review in Tampa in a second
  21. It's a "crappy" start according to some. At the time it was WHAT?!? Please explain because this makes no sense to me When I said it was crappy, it was in the 5th inning. Obviously I didn't expect him to pitch 2 more scoreless.
  22. Not being used against lefties, who own him. They do? Minor league career vs RHP- 0.296 0.358 0.516 0.874 Minor league career vs LHP- 0.293 0.338 0.509 0.847
  23. It's a "crappy" start according to some. At the time it was At the time it was 3 runs in 5 which I still don't see as crappy. One inning more without a run is a QS and two more and it's probably considered a pretty good start. For Dempster that is not that hard to do as he proved here tonight. You can't call a start crappy because he gives up 3 runs in 5 or if he gives up 1 run in in the first if the man is still pitching. Why are you citing quality starts? One of the most useless stats in baseball. 3 runs in 5 innings is crappy any way you slice it.
