  1. i feel the exact opposite. this kind of loss pisses me off to no end. here are my rankings of "types of game that piss me off most" 1. losing because of a blown call or just crappy officiating in general 2. completely dominating but losing because of bad luck/ bad breaks 3. blowing a game right at the end (aka heartbreakers) 4. just flat out getting beaten tonight's game is a combination of the top 2, which is pretty much the worst ever. we win this game 19 times out of 20
  2. how many effing time are we going to watch a backup goalie play the game of his life against us this season? seriously.
  3. by far the most frustrating game of the season i'm just going to pretend this one never happened
  4. If that's what you want to pretend, go right ahead. I tried tio make nice and you told me to shut up and then called me an effing [expletive]. I have more PMs recieved from you than PMs I've sent. Whatever though, I don't care. I guess all that matters is that I now know that a guy who has a high 4's ERA over a 5 year span is a very good pitcher, as long as his peripherals looks pretty.
  5. Oh and stop saying Vazquez is a very good pitcher. Peripherals don't make you a good pitcher. When your ERA is in the mid to high 4's for 5 out of the last years, you're not unlucky or decieving. You're just not that good. The goal is to not give up runs. When your peripherals don't match up with your ERA one season or maybe even 2 seasons, you can make arguments about the pitcher being good. When it happens every year, it's no longer a fluke. You're giving up a lot of runs every year.
  6. Why did you post this? Yeah, it's not like Young was good enough to be the centerpiece in a trade that netted a four time 200 K guy. Badnews never said anything about him bringing back a good pitcher. If you're not saying he brought back an elite pitcher then why did you reply to his post like he was? Oh and don't even bring up PMs considering you're the one who sent me PMs telling me to "Shut up" and then threatening to ofllow me around the board and taunt me.
  7. let loose cyno, let loose this is garbage
  8. soft goal from huet. i can't bleieve they're going to lose this game.
  9. wow. cherry picking pecota projections to argue that they're similar pitchers? i'm shocked that meph would resort to something like that. shocked. vazquez is one of those guy whose peripherals always looks good but they never translate into actually being good. ERA+ last 5 seasons 92 100 98 127 98 wow. STUD. seriously you could make the argument he's a decent or even good pitcher, but to say he's an elite pitcher is just a flat out lie and you know it. when your era has been in the mid-to-high 4's in 4 of the last 5 seasons, you're not a top pitcher. period. you still didn't answer the question that would potentially end this argument though. is javier vazquez an elite pitcher?
  10. it's not semantics when the argument is that far from the truth. that's like saying that arguing whether or not orlando hudson is an elite hitter is semantics.
  11. [expletive] Toronto We're gonna lose this game 2-1 on soe BS bounce
  12. That better be overturned but I bet it wont be
  13. eat it harding now your save percentage tonight is only 2.318
  14. Okay now Harding is really starting to make me mad.
  15. They aren't helping themselves by pissing away a 5 on 3 by passing it for over a minute without shooting
  16. Wow pathetic shift on the 5 on 3 after the review. Kane hols the puck for about 20 seconds and then does nothing
  17. How to neither of those go in? That's unbelievable
  18. Is Harding serious right now? WTF
  19. Wow that's the third time in the last 2 games Toews has blown a wide open net Long 5-3 here... must score
  20. So then you think that Miles has respectable numbers too, right? Last year was the only season Miles has matched Grudz production. In previous years he wasn't really close.
  21. Anderson is really bad defensively too I think
  22. Come on. It's OK, you don't have to like the Miles signing. You also don't have to reach for assumptions to display your distaste of it. How is it an automatic that "it would have been worth it?" The Dodgers invested alot of money in that middle infield and they have more questions than certainties with them for the money paid. Back injuries tend not to help players and a little guy with marginal power doesn't help himself with a wrist injury (at least in the first year after injury). Sure, there's a chance that both have big years, but there are enough questions about them to at least not fawn over their signings as if it was something masterful. $8 mil and a first round pick for one year of Hudson is not great. I dont hate the Miles signing. It just is what it is. A backup/platoon middle infielder. Im just saying that if we could have gotten something better for a reasonable price, we should have. Every year people have to jump all over 1 player as being an overpaid contract (i.e. Marquis, J. Jones, etc.) People said those players were overpaid because they were overpaid
  23. hes going to end up with a career warp between 90-100 or pretty close.... hes had three seasons with a warp over 8, thats one fewer than zambrano and two more than josh beckett and the same amount as andy pettitte. not that warp means a lot, but it illustrates a point Just answer this- Is Javier Vazquez a stud pitcher?
  24. so what if he's not great? for most of his career he's been above-average and durable. plus he's spent a lot of the last five years pitching in front of lousy defenses, so his fielding-independent ERA has been better than his actual ERA. even if he's a #2/3 and eats a lot of innings, that's still a valuable commodity. Did you read the thread? Meph's Vazquez post was in response to Badnews asking if Chris Young could be the centerpiece of a trade for a "stud" pitcher. Is Vazquez a stud pitcher? No. Did anybody say he was a bad pitcher? No.
