    what are you seeing in koyie hill's entire playing career that warrants him getting the bulk of the playing time? Nothing at all. There's no question Geo is a better long term answer. However, for this year, I think many of us have seen enough. only, soto has been better this year. That's not saying much when you're hitting .212. He needs a break. It's saying that he's better than the guy you want starting And he's about to get a 5 month break I don't see a single positive thing about Hill starting over Soto.

Nothing at all. There's no question Geo is a better long term answer. However, for this year, I think many of us have seen enough. so you've seen enough of soto but not enough of hill, even though hill has been worse?

    batter A hits .300, but every hit is a single batter B hits .250, but every hit is a home run who is a better hitter? I am a supporter of OPS. I was merely pointing out that if you are talking strictly about hits and hits only BA is the stat would show who has hit and who hasn't. but we're not talking about hits and hits only. when i'm talking about overall hitting, i'm talking how productive he's been as a hitter. not how often he gets a single. like i said, a guy can hit .250 and be a very productive hitter

    "Beefing up" indicates improvement. If you're a 110 lb. weakling who works out and becomes a 160 lb. average guy, you have beefed up. Adding another 20 pounds would be beefing up "even more". If you're going to take issue with semantics, do it right. let's see how many more people can take issue with the fact that i misinterpreted a post Or better yet we can wait for the troops to put words in your mouth. i'm shocked that you made this post and didnt just put me on ignore.

Carry on there, Dex. except you used rbi's and batting average to show that he hasn't hit, and those don't show that he hasn't hit it would have been perfectly acceptable if you had just used his slugging percentage Actually BA is the best way to tell if someone has gotten hits. Now if you want to know whether he has gotten extra base hits or overall been a productive offensively player you would want to use other statistics. batter A hits .300, but every hit is a single batter B hits .250, but every hit is a home run who is a better hitter?

    You must not pay attention to the farm system. This year it has taken a big step forward. i'm aware. i'm just saying that it's still not very good. So what? It's gone from a bottom of the barrell system to a pretty average system in a years time. This year's picks have looked promising as well. If they can improve next year then we all of a sudden have solid to above average farm system. Either way, the lone bright spot for this season is the play in the minors. Please don't suck the life out of that like you do with everything else on this board. jesus. all i said is that our farm system has gotten better, but it's not "beefed up". that's all i'm saying. it's gone from crappy to maybe average. is that not true? stop looking for stuff to pick apart.
