maybe its not as much that i'm worried about them not being able to fire him as them just choosing not to. i could see the bulls finishing with around 45 wins and them choosing to stick with him. he should have been gone sooo long ago.

when a team collapses like this as often as the bulls do (and against crap teams), most of the blame has to go on the coach. i really think the bulls screwed up badly by not pulling the trigger on firing VDN earlier in the season when he was all but gone. now theyre on a run so you can't fire him, even though he clearly is still an atrocious coach. what happens if the bulls continue to play well and finish the season like 45-37, followed by one of the big FAs signing here? will they be able to fire VDN despite the big second half. i just dont want to see the bulls have this great roster next season and be held back by a clueless coach.

USA clinches the 1 seed and will play the winner of switzerland/belarus on wednesday. assuming canada takes care of business against germany, they'll have to face russia in the second round. ouch

3-0 with 8 minutes left. looks like the USA will get the top seed and won't have to play russsia or canada until what would be the gold medal game.

i guess sweden can win by as many as 5 (since the next tiebreaker is GF and USA had 8 more heading into this game) and USA still gets the 1 seed edit: you beat me

how do they clinch the 1 seed? if the sweden/finland game goes OT, or also if sweden wins by fewer than 6?

He was rather ordinary, which isn't going to cut it with these rosters. yeah... not all those goals were his fault of course, but he didn't look very good the entire game. he was out of position and flopping around quite a bit

pretty amazing that they held them off in the 3rd despite the refs being on canada's side miller was amazing, brodeur looked pretty terrible

niedermeyer should have gotten a penalty on that. it was wayyyyyy after the whistle and he basically grabbed him and slammed him into the boards

im a few minutes late, but lololol @ brodeur. i loved the straight on slo mo angle that showed his move his skate to open the hole right before the puck got there.
