  1. Levine says that one of the owners backed out of a deal that was in place. Is there any chance that they had a deal without McNutt, and then Henry/Lucchino heard the Selig quotes and said "well, we might as well get him involved and see if we can end up getting something better" ?
  2. thats like 3 days old
  3. wow that blog entry is completely worthless.
  4. each team grabs one of theo's arms (with bud watching). first team to let go of theo means they care about him most and get to keep him
  5. or we could take out henry with a box cutter right in front of lucchino. we need unsettling music first though
  6. thekapman David Kaplan The latest is going up on my blog shortly. No deal yet. RT @Loupert17: @thekapman any news today on Theo talks? I'm dying here!
  7. take out lucchino's family to let him know we mean business. thats what the cartel would do
  8. I'm pretty sure that's against his contract and they could recoup some of his salary for that. Plus, why burn a bridge, even though his bosses are acting like toddlers? uhh im pretty sure the bridge has been burned he should leak stuff to the media like the sox did about theo & co. make 'em look like real dicks
  9. i hope all of boston gets a peter gammons in their heads
  10. theo should get dirty and start smearing the sox.
  11. this is what you clown suits get for trusting motherfucking kaplan
  12. im about to get a mcnutt
  13. i don't like dexter anymore
  14. Somebody put up the Pinzur signal
  15. Simmons definitely doesn't hide his feelings for the teams he likes, but at least he's unbiased most of the time. He's pretty good about that.
  16. wait, why are we bringing up sandberg again? because some random dude on twitter with 141 followers said something about it?
  17. holy [expletive], this is an embarrassing article, even for that guy
  18. correct. and younger is better. then why do you want sabathia? signing sabathia would pretty much eliminate any chance we have of signing hamels next year. there's no way theo gives sabathia 100+ million and then does the same for hamels next offseason. based on what? wins? innings pitched? it means literally nothing. yup, and you'll be paying sabathia into his late 30's.
  19. cubsfan26 is back!!!! yessssss should we re-sign grabow?
  20. 2 notes - duncan keith is pissing me off - carcillo looks pretty good out there
  21. i just dont understand allocating a good chunk of resources to a player right now when better/safer options are going to be available a year from now. i mean, if the cubs do sign an "ace" type pitcher in the next 2 offseasons (including this one), it's only going to be one. they arent going to give sabathia 100+ million and then pay another one a similar contract next offseason. if they do 2 big contracts, it would be a pitcher and a hitter. so yeah, i'd rather have hamels, cain, or greinke over sabathia without question.
  22. when giving out big contracts, you want to minimize the risk. giving a 31 year old cc sabathia 100+ is extremely high risk. it just doesn't fit with the way this organization is going to be headed once theo is in charge. if we're giving out big contracts, it should be to younger guys in the 25-28 range prince fielder matt kemp matt cain cole hamels zack greinke john danks the oldest guy in that list is greinke (turns 28 friday), and all of those guys will be free agents this offseason or next. those are the guys i want to spend money on.
  23. He has been for years. Like his opinions or not, he at least gets the info from people that know what's going on behind the scenes with the Cubs. Like I said earlier, he was all over the Harden trade WEEKS before it happened when nobody else was. I've always been curious as to who his sources are, but all I know is they have a pretty good idea what's going on with the Cubs. the harden trade was over 3 years ago. what else has he been right about?
  24. so kaplan is reputable now when it comes to sources. got it.
