    I picked Cincy because they haven't beaten anybody and I DON'T think they deserve to get in Also, there are only two conferences right now where a barely-.500 record would give you a decent RPI You hate the Big East far more than I am enamored by it EDIT: OK, nobody has a top-40 RPI.

    I could be off on this, but I think I remember people saying that Papelbon's peripherals did not match up with his success, even before he fell off. I think the reason why last year is so resonant with people is because that year was a kind of regression to the mean.

    Welcome to the board. First off, I think you're greatly overvaluing Beltre. I'm not sure how good Youkillis is defensively at third (though my guess is above average), but his offense is right on a par with Beltre's, and AGon is way better than both of them. The drop-off on first base defense is pretty insignificant as well. AGon may have never hit 40 playing half his games in cavernous Petro, but I think he's just about a lock to do it at Fenway. And pitching-rich AL East? I'll need some examples, because I don't see it. I think the Red Sox outscore everybody next year. The Rays are on the precipice of a serious decline, and I don't like where the Yankees are at all. I think the Sox take the division by 5-10 games, honestly.

    Somewhere ignoring any and all baseball news? Apparently so. I'll admit, I definitely crawled inside myself from about the beginning of August to the end of September He had 31 home runs then. In fact, he led the majors from mid may on. Oh man, last season I became BBB :(

    I think that Toomer's Corner thing is really sad, but holy [expletive], that's funny. If it happened to a school other than one I attended, I'd probably laugh at that Avatar clip...the guy who did it has kids named Chrimson and Bear and a dog also named Bear...lmao. On a brighter note, a group of Alabama fans is raising money to help Auburn deal with the situation...8k so far which I doubt will pay for much, but it's something positive... Yeah, there was actually a little piece on this in yesterday's Red Eye. Pretty cool.

And that label is applied by racists So, the analyst at CBS sports are racist, and the Redsox scouts are racist, who characterized his defense as such, it is a weak sword to draw in his defense. Use the race card to push the opponent back on their heels so they are defending. Question: Do you believe Bob Brenley and Ron Santo were Racist? All I did was point out that he wasn't in front of the ball in the photo, and I pray that every Cub is working on their defense.     That doesn't make it correct. And that label is applied by racists what??? Ramirez has been a below average defender for almost his entire career. He had a couple of above average years defensively, but overall he's been below average. That was obviously tongue-in-cheek. Maybe you're not a regular contributer, but there is a long-running joke (though not so lighthearted) about Kaplan and Wittenmeyer's perception of Ramirez being lazy being based on his ethnicity. Although, in all honesty, I think Kaplan is a [expletive] racist
