  1. Cano could not possibly be swinger harder right now. It's like he's never watched a derby before. Good thing you can build on round one this days.
  2. I actually thought I liked this guy
  3. Didn't take long to snatch the doom and gloom from the jaws of optimism here. And Jersey didnt even have anything to do with it
  4. The Red Sox are a very well-run team. Garza is a very good, cheap baseball player. Breaking news from Phil Rogers
  5. What do you mean good for him? In a variety of ways. He's constantly taking to him, and Starlin seems to listen. Especially after an error. Starlin seems like the kid who could get mistakes in his head and barney talks him off the wall. Does anyone else see this or am I making it up? Their rapport on the double play still makes me stand up and get excited occasionally. ETA I originally mistyped Starlin as Stalin. Stalin Castro. You are indeed making this up. If Starlin were such a mental midget, he wouldn't have ascended through our system so quickly (or at all), wouldn't be improving his defense seemingly every day, wouldn't have hit a 3-run HR in his major league debut, etc, etc... Barney's very good defensively. Just stick to that, because that's more than pure speculation on your part. And this smacks of some Kaplan-like justification to keep the white guy so that the latin guys stay on task. No thank you.
  6. He has a very traditional mindset and is a big fan of small ball principles - meaning we'd likely see a relatively large amount of sac bunts/steal attempts/etc. He also appears to buy into the myths of Aramis being lazy, Z being a headcase being a huge negative, gritty, terrible baseball players are awesome, that kind of stuff. Similar arguments to those against Ryno managing this year. I actually think Len is rubbing off on him a little bit, as he doesn't espouse those ideas with nearly the frequency that he used to. That said, it's not a great indication of what he'd do at the helm. Pretty much guaranteed that he'd revert back to his previous managerial style and run into outs and praise grit above all.
  7. Since that is sarcasm, that's pretty funny
  8. Man, we seem to hold our own against Lincecum, but we always get worked by Cain.
  9. He and K Law can both be really dry sometimes. And very critical. That was funny, though.
  10. I see 5, where were the other 3? Meh
  11. I really want to see someone photoshop a Castro spray chart
  12. Welcome. I was gonna give you [expletive] for announcing yourself, but you're a batboy, and that's pretty cool.
  13. What in the? He's hit 8 HR. Is Law just being contrarian right now? He's the only person I've seen that wasn't high on Szczur.
  14. Not in approach, but in looking absolutely lost at any breaking ball thrown to them. Geo looks overmatched at the plate, much like Soriano does on any breaking stuff. Total pitches swung at: Soriano: 57.9% Soto: 39.7% Pitches swung at outside the strike zone: Soriano: 48.5% Soto: 21.9% I still don't see the similarity. Yeah, that's great. What do your EYES see though?
  15. It's gonna take quite a haul for me to be happy losing Soto. I think you have to trade Pena right now, if you can. And I think he'll command about what Soto would, factoring in team-controlledness and whatnot. And we should be getting more for Geo. So let's keep him, please.
  16. Read the previous page. Someone's second round is contained in a spoiler, with him going to the Bulls
  17. He just had one last night. Still love Len. Caught that, too! Really happy he's sticking around. I don't love Bob, but I love these guys together, so I hope he stays, too.
  18. Why not? Once you get the free stadium, why would you continue to pretend to try? Loria finally gets his stadium. I hope he dies in it.
  19. Probably, but man, I always think that would be an amazing spot for a new stadium. It totally would. A south-facing stadium there would obliterate every other view in baseball.
  20. That Ozzie quote is hilarious. The man has been in the country for 30+ years, and remains willfully English-illiterate
  21. Well, you didn't say that before, so I never disagreed with that. You said it was "broke" [sic] and I showed why it wasn't. So did everyone else on here with a brain.
